disconnected at relay??

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I think the switch is unlikely as for most indicator switch failures you would still have one side working correctly.
Most likely it's from the following:
  • The flasher relay
The wire from the flasher relay to the indicator switch
The power feed to the flasher relay
Here's a wiring diagram that you can use to highlight the circuits you wish to look at (from Martin Poll's website): http://www.martinpoll.dk/diverse/mille% ... iagram.pdf

If you want to check the flasher unit, the Workshop manual tells you how (download from Martin Poll's website): http://www.martinpoll.dk/diverse/Bikema ... 00_OCR.pdf

Fixed! Spanner monkey ran through the obvious with no luck, then checked the wiring for that branch of the electrical system and found some 'untidy' connections to finesse, ressurecting the horn (which had failed the day after I bought the thing) in the process. However, when I went to start I got the 'fizzt-click!' and a dash reset. Turned the key off and on to a normal dash display and it started. Next port of call : replacement starter relay.

Sounds more like battery to me. The relays passing the current because the volts are being dragged down to the point of a dash reset
