what idle revs

#1 Post by herbacious » Wed Jul 21, 2010 8:28 am

Hi all

just wondering what revs you set your idle to?

I just increased mine to 1.5k and I think its made a big improvement to how the throttle responds, with much less bogging down if the revs get too low (because they don't)

is that a reasonable figure, bit high or what?

~1.4k for me, if it goes lower, bike tends to cut out when I pull the clutch in for longer.

Did yours change with altitude as well? Had to adjust mine on the trip a few times.

Yeah loads

in fact it was after talking to you at the top of the hill that I decided I would play with it and it made it much better.

Take it you got home in one piece then?

Think the manual says 1200 rpm - that's about where mine is.

Mine is around 1300 - I did have it lower to help with the larger throttle bodies as they seemed to like or prefer the lower tick over . Since an afternoons fettling and adjusting however it seems better at 1300

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Mine has been set at 1200 for the last 6 years, no problems.

I put mine up to 1500, seems to respond better to closing/opening the throttle when negotiating slow tight corners.
