St Georges Day

#1 Post by Willopotomas » Sun Apr 23, 2017 9:21 pm

Bars open to all my fellow Englishmen (and wimmin). I know it's quite late, but I hope you've all been out celebrating.

Tis also Sprog Mk3's 7th birthday, so took him out on the back of the bike for the first time. He loved it. :smt007

It was also st Jordi here in Catalonia we celebrated by having a massive cook out the traditional book and rose day oh and by beating Madrid in their stadium so yes we drank ... A lot
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Wow 1.5 thats alot :smt002 :smt003.

I didn't celebrate either as St George wasn't English, he was a Roman soldier of Greek extraction so was strictly speaking an immigrant.
At school I was only ever in 2 houses and they were both St Patrick's so I celebrate that instead.

I thought he was Polish, someone on FB said he was Turkish!

But hey - any reason's good for a celebration!

Presuming that you mean an immigrant from the English perspective ..... well that seems pretty doubtful as there is no evidence that he actually came here - let alone settled.

I should clarify that, half Lancs, half Polish/German and half Maltese with no Maltese blood line, being born on that sunny little isle allows me to adopt Dual Nationality

That'll be: come, work hard, contribute to the economy, maybe accessing some benefits to which they are entitled (and contribute to through the taxes they pay) and either settle, move on or return home .....

You shouldn't allow yourself to be overly influenced by the media - there are far fewer 'benefit cheats' than you think!
