Stelvio handguards for Futura

#1 Post by MartDude » Sat Oct 10, 2009 6:14 pm

Following a suggestion from Ian at Max Moto, I've just bought these

http://www.maxmoto.co.uk/images/Stelvio_hand_guards.jpg

They will fit with no modification to the guards themselves.
However, the bar-ends supplied are about 20 mm too short (with R & G bar end protectors fitted); I'm going to have to fashion some extensions - I was thinking of either casting some in resin, using the supplied bar-end (suitably cut down) as a pattern, or machining some from dense nylon or polypropylene.

UK Guzzi dealers are selling these for about £50 - £55.

I was also thinking of adding some LED strips.

I'll let you know how I get on.

I reckon the BMW R1150 GS ones would fit better with less work - just drill out & tap the bar end weights

Must buy a Fut Fut to try me handguards out on :smt003
