I collected BU05 UVM yesterday. Just under 40K on the clock and seemingly a full service history.

Bad points:
Some lacquer is flaking off the tank and there's some scratches from everyday use- appears to have gone touring europe.
There is perculiar mileage history on the MOTs. According to the dealer the clocks reset to km when the battery goes flat hence the strange mileage. No idea if that's true.. and I'm not sure if I really care..
Still has the original side stand

Good points:
It goes broom broom
It has road-legal remus cans
It has a Nitron shock - probably just the most basic model fitted around 2009.
40,000 miles so it's nicely run in.

Nice bike it is true about clocks resetting, best way to avoid that is to plug her into a optimate or similar while not in use, if you try and start her with a low battery she could kick back and that's what damages the sprag clutch. Good buy though :) you'll love her nearly as much as you'll love this site ;)

They were shite - and cause a lot of problems

Suggest you see if there is height adjustment on the shock - that may help (I doubt it but)

Then change the leg for a fire blade 2006 model

Second the advice regarding trickle charger, if the battery is suspect then bin it, Falcs are very suseptible to sad battery syndrome and your dash resets to facory settings...

Iirc there were 4 different versions

Versions 1 and 2 were excellent bits of kit and highly sought after

Version 3 were flimsy and poor angles - I saw one fitted on a tuoldo and even though the footprint was wider the bike was too upright
(I think this is one of those)

Version 4 s were hardly ever delivered, and were shittier than a shitty thing in a sewer....

Tis true, my old MOTs are a mixture of km and miles. I've also got a flaky lacquer thing on the back of the tank, not overly fussed about it.

Mine was one of the last ones before he gave up. It's solid and it bolted straight on. Angle of the foot could have been better though.
