Screen

#1 Post by cornish mafia » Fri Jan 04, 2013 9:00 pm

Quick question for all you Falco lovers out there ....Am thinking i don't like the look of my double bubble screen and was wondering if anyone has tried one with out a double bubble and how bad / better is it. I'm tall so would i be able to tuck below it ?

OH and by the way HAPPY NEW YEAR to one and all .......

I prefer the look of the standard screen - just find the double bubble more practical as I can fit my PND beneath it.

Andy is talking about his sat nav

I prefer the practicality of the double bubble - my sylph like figure needs the reduction in airflow

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

PND = Personal (or Portable) Navigation Device

e.g. a Garmin, TomTom or similar

I have two screens standard and double, and TBH i prefer the standard. The double deflects the air to my helmet and although i do wear hearing protection it makes things noisier :smt002

I think the double bubbles are fairly ugly, even if you've got a nice bronze coloured one.

I held off for a couple of years just because of the looks but put one on before the winter because I was tired of having a windy helmet.

Only done one decent length trip with the double bubble but it was a big improvement. Did just short of 100 miles down big A roads without a stop and felt fresh as a daisy when I got off. Found I was travelling faster though which may or may not be a good thing.

I'm not tall.

+1 for the standard screen here. I like the look better than a DB and I agree with Blinkey - with the standard screen my head is in clean air but no buffeting.

+1 for the standard screen, although i did fit a tinted double bubble to allow the satnav to sit higher, i also chopped about 2-3 inches of the length of the screen (similar to 'paddy' i think?) sort of a compromise, higher screen but a bit more stubby and better lines

I put a DB on because the standard screen was damaged and didn't find it that different to standard. It didn't look much different either. What the hell did I put on I'm wondering?

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.

Standard Vs Skidmarx. Looks a bit bulkier in the flesh somehow. I suspect how much difference they make is up to how tall you are and where you sit. The noisy bit was exactly in the wrong place for me with the standard one.

Next to none, far too idle.
Muc off speed polish. Spray on and a quick rub off and things go shiny as a very shiny thing.

edited because I'd got the wrong polish.
