update
got my new part today :D

fitted it :D
started fine :D
went a run and put some motion lotion in started fine :D
stopped for smokes started fine :D
went to outdoor world looking for small camping stove and it wouldent start
hit the button a few times and started :D
drove it home just round the corner turned of engine and starter was still running trying to start the bike
i couldent get seat off in tome to disconnect battery so it died
took battery out it is fried melted look at rhs  see pic

put spare battery in , same click as before ,but it did start after i bridged the solonoid ,
so second hand e bay part no use, , what did i expect for £10  , unless ther is another issue

sorry to your troubles go on, are you sure you've wired it correctly because that would fry your battery,if you have, then it bridging it's self with the ignition off and still turning the starter.but i can't understand why your battery's fried.something as got to be shorting to earth or your regulator, alternater is chucking to much charge in to your battery.

another update, im so impatiant, found a new honda solinoid dont know what amps though, made new conection on relay side fitted it and bike started right up , i done this about 10 times ,
so i thought i would chech my charging systen heres what the reading are
14.2 at idle

13.6 on idle with headlight on

14.1 at dash at idle no headlight on

so i asume the wire mod has been done but not by me
also noticed the derestrictor wire also has been done

all seems well just goto wait till right relay arrives , but i would like to know how long this relay will last as it was cheap if i remember right (long time ago )

My starter solenoid went tits up just before my holiday trip last year so I put the one off my old Gpz 750 on and it did the job fine for months until I bothered my arse to get a replacement.
If the solenoid you put on is genuine Honda it'll be better than the original.
However, if you were riding around with your starter still engaged I doubt that'll last much longer.
