oldbie soon to be returning to the fold

#1 Post by wayno » Thu Jun 28, 2012 11:04 am

Just a quite hi to say I'm coming back soon. I have sold the YZF750 after having a blast of a year and a half on it, but it's time to get back on a bird.

The YZF is a fantastic bike, but it's lacking that V-twin engine (yamaha should really look into this market as it's the only fault I found on the YZF) so I have a proverbial pocket of cash and shall be having a look at a couple of Falco's this weekend.

welcome back

you going for a slow colour or black this time?

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Going for the fastest ones, i.e. metallic red

Black ones are sooooooo slow they've been commonly mistaken for a shadow moving with the sun :smt003

I have just seen a picture of a silver one that looks rather nice

Can someone remind me, is it possible to reset the total mileage anyway? I want to know for when I'm looking at bikes to make sure they've not been clocked

Clocks are, to best of my knowledge, very difficult to clock

Glad to have you back ..... though I thought that Yam was a keeper :smt017

The Yam was supposed to be a keeper but I soon realised that I could sell it on for a tidy profit, and that if I'd done many more miles I would lose that window of opportunity. The handling on it was super sweet, but I was missing the v twin pull.

I saw that one, looks very nice, unfortunately it's at the opposite end of the country and I'm on holiday next week. Going for a look at a couple down this way this weekend, and if I don't like them I'll resume the search when I get back to blighty.

i believe I may have just purchased one of the few still restricted Falco's in history. I need to investigate fully but a quick glance under the seat and the wires all looked intact

I'm almost tempted to get it on a dyno as I bet there aren't many restricted ones have been run up on one.

Pics to follow, but it is the fastest colour, metallic red.
