Don't worry Bobbi - he'd never pass the entrance test to qualify for Falco ownership. That's why I was realistic in recommending something different.BikerGran wrote:No you don't want a Falco! Don't joinm the common herd!

Got offered 675 in Cambridge when I visited Cambs M/c's and i know theyre an awesome bike, but to get a decent one goes way out of the price range that im sticking to.
I love everything about Falcos apart from the twin spar frame. Stick an RSV frame on a Falco and I'd be interested.. oh..wait... that'd make it an RSV..
I suppose I could papier mache the frame to fill that gap in.. and paint it Yellow..

SV650 is an option.. one of the earlier ones, but I know I'd treat it badly and from memory theyre prone to front cylinder cutting out in the wet.. I know theyre a twin spar, but I prefer the design of the Suzuki's frame..
Actually a Hyosung Comet would be another option.. the poor man's Sv650 (itself a budget bike) however the irritating thing is theyre going for better money than the SV!
I take it 900ss Dukes suffer the electrical gremlins that Dukes are 'renowned' for?

Quick question.. Is the Falco seat wider than the RSV's?
Im imagining that the reason I managed to ride an RSV, if it's taller, was something to do with the profile of the seat?
If I get an RSV Im just going to swap out the rear hump for a race one and shove a mousemat on the plastic where the seat would normally fit..
That'd take 25mm out of the seat height without trying
*omg that's me modding it before ive even ridden it..

The frame number may match the engine - but. Doubt it.... Forks are wrong, bars are wrong, side panels are wrong etc
(for the year)
But if the frame is straight and the engine good....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
Yup.. it's Not an R.. well.. bits may be.. It scares me less than that clean 6 owner one as you instantly assume its a nail and can accept it from the off. it's gonna get hacked about and resprayed anyway so looks arent too important, it just needs to be straight, honest and have a good engine and gearbox
I did look at F800ST Bmw's but they sit outside my price range
did see this though with a long MOT..

Sam would be fuming if I bought that.
