Mike got quite a lot back from his bank. I should have claimed from Egg but it's too long ago now and I don't remember the deatils - they only charged me for PPI for a few moinths cos I noticed and told them to stop but it's the principle really.

You dont need the details. They can pull it up from your name, date of birth and address.

But don't you need to know what you are claiming for?

From Egg? Your sentence above explains enough.
they only charged me for PPI for a few moinths cos I noticed and told them to stop
Theyd send a Ombudsman form, it's filled out by you and sent back. Assuming you were missold it then it's pretty much that straightforward. the institution you have a claim against holds records and will furnish all the details for you the form even mentions (if you can remember) at various stages of the form so you can be quite vague and still pursue a claim.

This is the Ombudsman's site

http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/p ... forms.html

The guide and form are on there if you wish.

I found it easier to let the company i was dealing with send out their version as it allowed them notice of my intent and also they put the account details in for me, etc.

Thanks for the link - mine was with an Egg loan and the Egg site directs you to the Ombudsman form anyway. Downloaded the form and will have to see if I can find the old paperwork - which I may have thrown out by now! But I'll send the form anyway cos they should, as you say, still have my details.

you may be able to find out the details of the loan thru your own bank; they will have direct debit details, etc. A little invested in time and effort will reap rewards. Even if it comes back with just 30 quid, thats 30 quid you didnt have back off them before :smt003
