Stolen bike

My other halfs bike was stolen last night. It has great sentimental value to us as well as any other kind. Would you guys mind keeping an eye out please?

Copied from Facebook: My FireBlade was stolen from our parking space in Nuneaton last night by somebody who knew it was there as the bikes aren't visible from the road. If you could please look out for it and/or share this message to as many people as you know and ask them if they could keep an eye out for it for me, I would really appreciate it.

It's a Honda CBR929RR. The registration is X487 AVV. It has small scuffs in the white paint on the left hand side of the rear seat unit. Unique to that bike is its gold wheels. They weren't especially clean but they're far more noticeable than the standard black. I've attached a picture so you can see it and like I said if you could look out for it, it'd really help me out. Thanks guys.

Thanks very much everyone. Its come as a bit of a shock to be honest. Where does our bad luck come from? honestly? Will would speak for me, i'm generally pretty laid back but right now i'm so angry i want to kick the walls down. I wish i could get my hands on the thiefs.

One of the local scroates round here stole a scooter, crashed and died - there wasn't much sympathy.

Would you believe it, our other bike (CB500) has been stolen too leaving me with no work transport. Fortunately i've borrowed my Mums car for the time being. The Police have found the CB pretty messed up and are charging us £170 at least for storage.

How much bad luck can one couple get?

Gutted for you - same scroats came back for the second bike - perhaps looking for the "insurance replacement" for the blade?

This business of the police finding your bike then having it recovered and the recovery people charging you is, in my view, nothing but a scam.
I was wise to this when my son's scooter was stolen a few years ago. Fortunately my son's friends and ourselves combed Coventry for it and we found it. We informed the police that we'd found it (ie done the job they weren't bothering to do) and they wanted to come and get it from where we'd found it so they could hunt for clues .....
Knowing that would not turn up anything and would lead to a storage charge, I refused. The next day they came and checked it for prints - which led nowhere.

How did I get wise to this? Well prior to that my company car was stolen. It was found locally but rather than notifying me and giving me the chance to recover the car, they got Rowleys to recover it and take it away to be stored until my company paid up for it to be released.
I don't know for sure but it wouldn't surprise me if these recovery companies pay the police for the contract to recover the vehicles - then the police ask them to pick up the stolen vehicles without any consent from the owner ..... a scam!

Sorry for the rant but it pisses me off big-time
