Let's keep it simple.
That's great news for Dan, well done mate.
Plus.
A Suzi Bergman might just be a great start for him and a good commuting tool with lots of luggage space.
Young bikers get hammered by insurance companies and the Suzi could be a cheap and economical way to get started, build up experience and get some no claims bonus built up.
I'd rather have a 400 Bergman than a CB 125 any day.
They get respect from other road users and are more likely to be noticed than other small scooters and bikes.
Faster fun bikes can come later.

Insurance shouldn't be too bad - he has 4 years NCD and passed the magic age of 25 at which premiums get much better.

Sorry, but I thought that about my daughter and her car, we waited for the renewal to come through after her 25th birthday, it went up, and again the next year, at 27 it stopped going up and at 28 we eventually got a slightly better deal after trying everybody and their grandmother. The renewal notice was well up.
Just recently renewed it again, a few weeks ago, and finally got a quote the same as last year.
She will be 29 in a week, hope there are better deals next year.
Same with insuring her as a named driver on Terri's 1.3 Mitsubishi Colt, even now, we have to pay nearly double for Jo to be covered on it even after we explained to them that she has her own car that she always uses and will only ever be an occasional driver, even supplied details to prove that she has no accidents and no claims in 10 years.
It seems ridiculous to me, her and Terri both have clean licences but it still costs us almost twice as much to insure her on the Colt plus us two, as it does for Terri and myself on a 205bhp BMW 1 series.
All this still because of her age??
Really hope you can do better.

Yes Daniel's bike insurance this year was significantly lower than last year.

Maybe cars are different (we pay a small fortune in insurance for the car that the boys are insured for) - also maybe the fact that they don't load females anything like as much as blokes - and young ones in particular. That could mean that as the gap between the sexes reduces as they get older, the blokes see more of a reduction than the girls.

Dunno if this is why but it could easily be the case.
