When you get chance could you have a quick look at the bottom ot the shock and see how much thread is showing below the ride height adjuster. How many rings are showing on the top of each fork ?

I thought everyone knew that cement comes in bags not sacks.

i've got 3 rings showing at the top of the forks and on the shock(blue spring sachs) i've got 26 threads showing above the adjuster rings.

Had the white spring shock fitted today at Corse Performance in Clay Cross. 01246 251000
Sean is a great guy and knows his job with suspension, he looks after race bikes too.
What a difference it makes, couldn't believe how it makes the bike feel.
I didn't think there was anything wrong with the old shock, suppose you get use to the way they feel.
Only replaced it after comments on here.
Really pleased I did.
Also got tips on settings for track day later in year.

really pleased you were happy with the service you got ken, i'm allways a bit on edge when recomending some one, not every body's requirements are the same.

You've got me wondering now Falken - is it that the stock shock is actually rubbish, or is it that we all take a new shock in and get it set-up by a pro (i.e. the set-up is what makes the difference). Anyone had a pro tinker with the stock shocker?

Someone did on here. They had it set up at a track day and the suspension guy said the shock isn't as bad as people make out, just needs setting up. It was that post that convinced me to persevere with the original, that is untill a low mileage yellow spring came up on ebay

i've got the blue spring sachs which i had set by sean at clay cross he said that they are a perfectly good shock and that he races with them and the difference was amazing.

I switched to the yellow spring shock fer three main reasons;
My old blue spring Sachs had done 21000 miles and was, imo, beyond a simple rebuild and set-up, (corrosion everywhere and adjuster rings seized solid).
The yellow spring Sachs has ride-height adjustment, (me being a short arse, I always need more height!

).
And of course, the yellow spring Sachs looks waaaay more 'blingy' than the dull old blue-un; It has a remote resevoir n everything!

Oh, and I got a 3000-miler fer half the money it would have cost me to service the blue-un as well.

Pound to a penny; If ya had two identical Falcos, each with the different Sachs on em, (both set up by 'Sean'), and raced em, I reckon the yellow-shock wearing Falco would win, (unless of course it was a yellow Falco wearing it... or maybe a Silver Falco wearing the blue shock...

)

only reason why I have a white shock fitted is to try and slow my fastest colour black falco down.....

oh - and it makes a hell of a difference to the handling imho :)

On a similar note, can anyone recommend a good suspension place in Melbourne? I've heard vague good things about ProMecha (Westall Rd, Springvale-ish), but nothing definite.

FM, did you manage to get the mille linkages, or are you still running the falco ones?
