Nope - other than riding it to a test centre for a pre-booked MOT

And if it fails you can't legally ride it back

I thought you could, to remedy the fault(s)

Mine failed a couple of years ago (back brake was spongy) - the tester didn't have a problem with me riding it home to bleed it before the re-test.

definitely cannot ride it apart from to test centre

as to riding it back - grey area i think....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Definitely cannot ride without a valid MOT cert, except to/from the test centre. Mine failed a couple of years ago - for the horn. Funnily enough, I rode it away to sort it out :smt002

You can ride away, but there are issues involved with riding something un-roadworty:
It is generally an offence to use on a public road, a vehicle of testable age that doesn’t have a current test certificate, except when:
  • taking it to a test station for an MOT test booked in advance
bringing it away from a test station after it has failed the MOT test, to a place of repair
taking it to a place, by previous arrangement, where problems that caused the vehicle to fail its MOT test, can be repaired
bringing it away from a place where the problems with the vehicle have been repaired
Even in the above circumstances you may still be prosecuted for driving an unroadworthy vehicle if it doesn’t comply with various regulations affecting its construction and use. Your car insurance may also be invalid.

I rode mine for a day out by booking it into a test centre where I wanted to go (albeit not too far away) then somewhere else..
