Falco question

#1 Post by Tonyunn » Wed Apr 11, 2012 9:11 am

I am seeing a few different Falcos popping up for sale now the spring has arrived.
They look good but a few I have noticed are devoid of any Aprilia decals or logos, are these resprayed bikes or did any Falcos come with no logos at all (can't see that happening) but I thought I would ask anyway.

Never a particularly heavily decaled bike but they all had identification on them which varied from year to year.

The pics here might help a bit: https://www.ridersite.com/viewtopic.php?t=6289 - this is a definitive list of the colours in which they were produced - so that might help you too.

Obviously the pics don't show the decals on every surface

Cheers D, as you say not over the top when it comes to stickers etc. but some of the ones I have seen have no tail hump logo or the tank decal is missing.

I took them off mine as the rears in particular had crazed (sp) in the sun. It also cleaned up the looks I thought. Could be the same with those for sale, I know a few who've done it.

i took all mine off bar the tank decals - they were interrupting with the applied stealth technology

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Yes - quite believable - after all, nobody would choose to spray their Falco black

You'd be hard pressed to find a whole barrel full of tits. Most of them would be stood at the side of the road waiting for the RAC to collect their broken down black Falcos ......

I like all the colours of the falco although i was'nt that keen on the yellow to start with.
I think the black falco look stunning. Howards bike looks incredible has does Greg D's, I have had two black bikes in the past and when polished the paintwork gleamed :smt007
Not falco's of course :smt001

Thought the same at the time i purchased mine as it only had the Aprilia logo on the tank, thankfully the others were taken off by previous owner as i don't think they were that flattering on the earlier models!
