i would have said that what you have is poss salvageable . with some
engineers blue (to find the high spots) and a small half round scraper to remove them .. if you can get another cam to spin freely. you will not have all the bearing area but, i have done this lots of times ,and its been ok .. need to try to check oil feed ..but ive seen this before (not on a falco) many possibilities as to why, but sometimes shit happens :smt017 should be poss to do with engine in

I'd choose a different one then. £800 seems steep for a start, and claiming the previous ad that he bought from stated 130bhp is like me saying that mine produces 150bhp. Prove me wrong. In other words it's potentially a load of tosh.

£300 to £500 seems to be the going rate for one of these engines so I'd be looking around that money first.
I'm right 98% of the time so why worry about the other 3%?

Well Jay did text me and here I am. Its been a long time but still bike less so not had the time or inclination to wind myself up looking at things SWMBO says I cant have.

Yes I have a perfectly good engine (and a few other bits) if you want to get in touch. It will be cheaper than the ones that have been mentioned. Drop me a PM with your number and lets get you back on the road.

Huge thanks to Mike (Madhatter) and to Jay (Blinky501). I now have a replacement motor sitting in my garage - so time to study the manual inside out and see about doing a swap too.

Thanks guys :smt023

I love happy endings all round! :smt007

Just got the job of one out and one in now!

Never done an engine swap on a modern bike myself, good luck with it.
