actually - the smell of petrol makes me think it is flooded

so - throttle wide open, fast idle full on, and then hit start button - it will burp and fart a bit then should start 0 close throttle nd reduce fast idle

as Jay said - normally starting the falco is not like an in line four - fast idle on, twist throttle a couple of times then leave it closed as you press the starter - DO NOT twist the throttle

and give me a shout if needs be - am only over in bungay and can pop over one evening

yerr, don't twist when you start. It can break the sprag clutch so I hear.
So can a poor battery so be very careful.

I would say if you have any doubt just buy a good battery.
(not cheap), just do it anyway. I use "motobatt" they are fantastic. Usually the first thing
I do is stick a good battery in any bike.

A battery can show +12V and on a meter and still be knackered.
18 AAA batterys will give 12v but they wont crank a one litre V-twin.

And a 10 year old original equipment 70ah one won't start a Ford Mondeo outside your Mums house either. Most embarrassing recovery I've ever had. Yesterday.

Errmmm - 18 AAA batteries will give you 27V but yes, they wont crank a V-twin

im pretty happy with the looks now, and all done on a minimal budget. its had a good service and is now giving me much enjoyment on my commute now we are having some decent weather! all comments appreciated.
