Well by now Gio should be on the M1 heading south on his new steed.

I meanwhile having shed a tear or two :smt022 (or three if I'm being honest) now need to look more seriously for a replacement. The Tuono is still a clear favorite although my local dealer is trying to tempt me with a MV Brutale! (oooh an MV!!) :smt016

Having looked at the every so busy, posts flying in every minute RS Tuono section (tumble weed rolls by) I reckon I'm on my own there, so I'm hoping that you lot will still welcome me on here :smt052

I might be Falco less (and I'm keeping my forum name regardless of what bike I buy) but the new adventure / project beckons :smt039

Yep, a sad day Rich .... but a good day for Gio !

As for a new bike, well knowing that you were a keen modifier of the Falco, I guess it won't be long before you feel the need to "enhance" whatever comes next.
Perhaps you should consider not only which bike you like in standard form but which of the options has the best scope for "personalising" (or preparing for Gio or whoever as their next bike).

Glad you are sticking around - now you've got a mission to build up the Tuono forum (assuming that's the way you go) as well as talking to us.

It's like a divorce. Yes, you love her but she's gone now. And there are so many other birds around! you just don't know what to do with your hands!

Ehm. Check the MCN, new Shiver 1200 may be da bomb. If only you could wait nobody knows how long. :smt017

There is also high spec single sited (and single minded) version of Super Duke. Or Tuono Factory. Sh1t if I had more $$$. :smt013

Sad for you at 'losing' your bike, Glad it's gone to Gio as I know He will care for it and continue to maintain it to the standard you clearly have.

If you do get a Tuono then it looks like youre duty bound to go forth increase and multiply the Tuono membership! Someone had to be first, why not you!! :smt003

Enjoy all that looking about for a new bike, like someone said, It's like getting divorced and being able to look AND touch agaion! Shagadelic Baby! Yeah!

I'd get a bog standard Tuono then add your artistic flair to it like you did the Falco! Why join a trend when you can set it! The Tuonos are a pretty much blank canvas.

Arrived home at 15.03 and what a ride :smt003 :smt003 :smt003

3rd gear and let her go on the M1, feck me that induction roar is loud, I thought I'd forgotten to put my ear plugs in :smt005

So the story goes like this, M1 to Ampthill then south following the M1 but not of it.

Decided to let London have a listen, but my hand aches like a ......................(fill this space) that clutch lever is hard work after 50 changes in 10 mins. Stopped off in the West End for lunch with my son (when can I have a go).

Rich, she's fantastic M8, you're always welcome to stop by.

BTW get another Falco, I don't think you'll get a better bike (yeah even the Tuono)

I'll take good care of her, she deserves it :smt003

Should only need one good run out then you'll be OK :smt004
How did you find the comfort by the way, did you manage to bend to fit OK?
You're right about the clutch in traffic, but on any sort of a run it's fine as you don't need to change as much.

Well todays run home was 283 miles isn't that enough?


Howard as for the rest, well, took me 20 miles to get myself used to the pegs, I never got out of 5th and a lot was in 4th (I like the induction), the seat is good, but it'll be better when I've changed the levers angle.

Tomorrow its new tyres ( the rear is bald in the middle after that trip) So a nice fresh pair of Diablos :smt003 :smt003 :smt003

One other thing and I'm sure its cos of the square rear tyre, she didn't want to tip into left handers (my favourites)

Writeup next week about the 1st 500 miles :smt003 :smt003

Yeh, 283 miles is a good run, but I was meaning a run out on some nice roads, the M1 and London are not most peoples idea of fun, well not unless you're on a Falco. :smt004
As for the left handers, I tend to find that tyres, when fully worn, get more squared off on the LHS because of the fairly steep camber on most roads. The RHS always wears a bit more on the side. Plus if you tend to play on roundabouts, just occasionally, the RHS again gets a bit more rounded off. Not suggesting for one minute that Rich would have done anything like that!
Get the new Diablos bedded in and all will be fine.
Hope the weather gets a bit better down south so you can have a better play, unusually we seem to have had it better "oop north" for about a week.
