Last ride - probably

#1 Post by Tonyunn » Sun Dec 11, 2011 3:56 pm

Took a chance and went out this afternoon, road conditions were not the best it seemed greasy so couldn't push it but it was great to get out for one last run of this year.

Main reason for getting out was to test a couple of things 1) would it start after being on a charger for a week and 2) the new mirrors I have fitted.

Well it started first push and as for the mirrors they were brilliant, if you get a chance to fit the longer mirrors then do so they look great and really work well.

Fair play, mate. I wouldn't dream of going out on a day like today. I presume you've got the 125 Aprilia mirrors fitted? If so, they make a massive difference. Proper rear view, for a start...

Pattern ones are 32 quid a pair delivered on fleabay from Poland. Search for E311 mirrors. I've been mulling these over but I don't know if I'd still get through the gate.

Yes, but what's that got to do with mirrors? :smt003

Seriously mate, they fold away in the same manner that standard Falco ones do. With them swivelled out of the way the widest part of the bike are the bar ends.

Unless you're sitting on it, of course... :smt003

They do make squeezing through queues of traffic a bit tighter - but that's not a bad trade given that they actually allow you to see what's going on behind.

And less of this crap about last rides of the year etc etc. We've weeks of riding left before next year starts (well, about 3 of them)

about time you cleaned those rose tinted glasses jay....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

You could also try Rocket Centre near Blackburn, sometimes they have things like this in stock and are flexible on prices and you can sometimes haggle, think i got mine from there a while ago, along some with Tuono indies...just a matter of right place, right time!

They certainly did improve things, but have now got the RSV ones

Didn't manage to get out for the last two weekends as roads were wet and "salted" and it was raining!
Still hoping to get out next week though, before I bugger off to Spain on the 28th.
At least the weather in our area is a lot better than last year, when we had 3 to 4 feet of snow and 220 trucks and cars stuck on the A57 in our village for three days, until the Edale and Woodhead Mountain Rescue crews got to them, (Ice Road Truckers come to South Anston!). :smt009
