Prices have gone stupid over the last two years. I turned down a Mk 1 for 4.5K last year, they are fetching up to 9K now for a good series 1 Mk1.mangocrazy wrote:+2 on liking the Guzzi. They're a very honest-looking motorbike. Do a job and no messing about...
A mate of mine is after a MkII 850 Le Mans. Unfortunately I think it will be a costly exercise...

If it looks like a slideshow it's the old version of the page.
If there are little thumbnails down the side then it's the bottom one.
Warning - it isn't pretty.

Restoration project? There are two guys knocking out great cafe Guzzis using old Guzzis as base bikes, Axel Brudde and Fillipo Barbacane. I'll find some images.

Restoration project?

It was beyond economical repair. It was my only transport for 14 years and was more or less completely shot. Top end was past it, frame and yokes were bent, front hub was cracked, tank was creased, plastics were cracked. Bottom end and back wheel probably had some life left in them but I gave the fairing, clip-ons and rearsets away and scrapped the rest. There's being obstinate and there's being silly.

A couple of very nice bikes even if that steering damper seems somewhat optimistic.mangocrazy wrote:I concur.D-Rider wrote:Very, very tasty
And I hadn't realised how LONG they are (wheelbase, that is...)
They are long, and low and carry their weight low down too. This makes them hugely stable and forgiving of being accidentally launched into the air or run off the road by some elderly tit in a camper van.
