Anyone know???

If Futura bars will fit Falco forks?

Futura forks are specced as 43mm USD. Is it wishful thinking to hope that this is for the legs and not the fork tops?

Unlikely.

Fut clip-ons have quite a thick whatever you call the bit that encircles the forks; you might have to raise the forks through the yokes more than you'd wish to accommodate them; Fut Showa forks are longer than Falco/RSV forks. Also, the Fut bars are bolted down on to the top yoke.

I'll have a measure tomorrow (today? the space-time continuum has gone a bit awry tonight) and may even get round to posting a pic.

Anyway: why?

Edit: I may need a reminder

Why not just drop the forks through the yokes and fit the standard Falco clip ons over the top of the yokes, you may just get away with no re-plumbing etc., and works fine.

Needs new brake lines and if you have the new style Lhs switch (indicator lowest) it might hit the fairing. But yeah, works fine :smt001

Brake lines need rerouting.... Iirc

It is snug but they do fit....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Was too snug for my liking, and an excuse to get Hel line fitted :smt003

Trying to think of ways of raising the bars relatively cheaply, without spoiling the lines too much. If I can't get a high set of clip ons then I'll have to go the flat bar route and get a CNC kit with the site discount.

It was just a thought.

Try the bars over the triple yoke - works for me

Does this make it massively slap-happy? Or has everyone else already fitted steering dampers?!

Not really, I didn't have a single problem in about 10k miles HOWERVER since fitting softer springs I had the bike shake it's head twice, but ok apart from that.

How much higher are the bars now?

Is there a noticeable difference in comfort?

Any issues with cables/lines?

I might have to try this for myself not least because it's free apart from time. Still like the thought of flat bars though but if this does the trick then they can wait until more affluent times. :smt002

Further to this, has anyone ever drilled to OE yoke and did they get decent results?

Would it hold up to the stresses of day to day use?

Would it be safe?

Does it get a bit twitchy.... Well no unless you get exuberant - but fit a stock red sachs steering damper and no problems - the ohlins is nice as it is adjustable but the original works....

I have drilled through and tapped the top yoke - it's not necessary though....

Overall I reckon a rise of about an inch and a half to two inches - it made a good difference for me
