Rear Brake Caliper

#1 Post by FalcoJock » Sat Oct 01, 2011 1:02 pm

It's time to replace my rear brake caliper. One of the cylinders is damaged and the whole thing is well past what I can easily recondition. So anyone recommend where I can get a caliper and brake line (hose) for less than an arm and leg? I can see a new caliper for £105 delivered but the 'hose' is £45 (ouch).

The ones on eBay look a bit ropey and second hand.

For the hose, go to Hel (no I don't mean it like that !) and ask for the rather substantial forum discount.

Thanks D-Rider, I have ordered a hel line. Sorry Mad Hatter, I have ordered a calliper on line, otherwise I'd have been interested.

I'm well impressed with HEL (the one on earth). I ordered the line on Saturday and it arrived today (Tuesday) complete with detailed instructions, including torque settings etc. Half the price I could have paid elsewhere.

Talking of which, I paid £95 (ouch) for a new calliper, but did see the same thing for £185!

Thank for offers of other callipers but too late - maybe I should wait a bit longer in future.
