Has everyone forgotten the bloke on his bicycle (come) grinder wheel that used to come around and sharpen the humanpowered lawn mowers and other assorted blades.

Green, Green & Green again.

And who can forget the jolly rag & bone man who would clean out your house and give you a magic Balloon :smt038 .

Never understood why I got the belt for that one :smt017

I have two kids and my wife looks after them, i put a lot of hours at work to provide for them. has did my dad when i was a kid.
Has for wastage my grandad had a cottage in misterton the village where i have lived for 35 years.
My grandad used to utilise the land he had to grow potatoes kidney beans and sprouts etc, has well has having rubarb patches and plum, pear and apple trees. he also had two green houses to grow tomato plants has well has marrow and cucumber.
way back then i did not understand the importance, but i can now realise that it was all from the dig for britain era during the second world war.
Tolerance will be our undoing.

My grandad used to quote a little rhyme....
Dear beloved brethren, is it not a sin
To peel your potatoes and throw away the skin?
The skin feeds the pigs, the pigs feed you,
Dear beloved brethren, is this not true?
It was and still would be true except that pigs are not allowed to be fed on pigswill now.

But of course we didn't have the green thing then............ it just made sense!
The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.

Personally, I think that's a waste; the skins are the best part of a spud

anyone else think we are descending to a "Deliverance" moment....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
