Re: Neutral
OK, don't feel quite so foolish now. I got drunk in a bar with Joey in Portugal once. Next day he raced around the street circuit in Vila Real in the F1 race (and won it naturally), while I nursed an impressive hangover...Blackranger68 wrote:Yes he was from Ballymoney thats just 15miles from where I live.D-Rider wrote:I thought Joey was from Ballymoneymangocrazy wrote:Home of Yer Maun himself, if I'm not mistaken. yep i see what you mean

Yes.Dale if you are struggling you are quite welcome to come over to my house and i will help or change the jet for you...
The offer is there

Tolerance will be our undoing.
Ok, the clutch jet is changed. the 75 has been replaced by the 40, alongside the clutch cable (and therfore, fluid) and i also got rid of the bent purhrod for a straigh spare that i had lying around.
Start the bike up, let it warm up for a few minutes, pop it into first, cant get it out again. cut the engine, pop into neutral, and retry again from second gear, only to fail again.
Im positive the clutch line is free of air - i ran 3 full mastercylinder's work of brake flluid to ensure there was no air left in the line.
So, where do i go from here? the bike has always been running on 10w40 for as long as i have had it. Perhaps its time to get the clutch plates out? any good guides/info on how to do it and any will i need any unusual tools?

If you really do need to look at the clutch itself, Ken's site is probably a good place to start:

Well, all the clutch related posts i have read about are all to do with clutch slippage. How much is removing the clutch going to help?D-Rider wrote:If you really do need to look at the clutch itself, Ken's site is probably a good place to start:

tomorrow i will be changing the coolant, plugs, cleaning the filter and looking at the custom evo airbox mod.
EDIT: just found a post about the grub screw being a possible cause? will have to look into that tomorrow....
Dale
I didn't suggest it would - was just responding to your request on how to attack it.Dalemac wrote: Well, all the clutch related posts i have read about are all to do with clutch slippage. How much is removing the clutch going to help?

That said there have been disengagement issues - like keith had when his release bearing failed:

Not sure how similar your issues are though.
