For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

OK - back home - can't see much due to not only to the problem but also the eye drops they've given me so they could examine me ...... have zoomed the screen a lot to be able to type this.

Anyway, I have a Posteria Vitreous Detachment .... and when I can read the leaflet they've given me, I'll know a bit more about it though basically the jelly in my eye has come away from the rear. The good news is the retina has not detached (which is something that can happen with this but is not so common).

It's one of those "live with it" things as they can't do anything but as long as the fog goes away, then I guess that's OK.
Apparently there is an increased risk of the other going too - but let's just hope not.

On the way back from the hospital I got a text from my wife (read to me by the chap that took me up there as I couldn't read it).
Apparently her tests results have been delayed and due to bank holidays and some other things, the earliest we'll hear about what they've found and how it will be treated will be 2nd September. It's just been delay after delay .... and I thought that this stuff should be treated as quickly as possible ....

I think you should make waves with those people BG mentioned, patient liason? Its quite unacceptible. surely if there's a delay in one place that should create a fast track elsewhere in the chain to compensate..

Yes, when Joy comes home today (she's been away for a few days with her mum) we'll discuss what can be done - quite agree that it's unacceptable.

You know my views Andy

Kick up a stink

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Andy, I feel for you; I really do. Do you ever have the sensation you're being stalked by something? Do you see little red dots appearing on or around you, Terminator-stylee...?

Seriously, I think you've exhausted all your supplies of bad luck in the last few weeks. Things have to start getting better soon.

What everybody else has said Andy!
Can't believe it.
Just hope your health and your luck get better soon mate.

As for the claim two years ago, who is handling it, is it legay cover with the insurance, cos if so they are worse than feckin useless.
A Knock for Knock 50/50 is the do nothing solution for them!
I would tell the insurance company you cannot accept that offer and will take further yourself.
Some years ago I had an issue like this where a bloke came straight off a garage forecourt, without looking my way, straight in front of me and I "T" boned him. Not go into detail as I may have done before, but the insurance took twelve months and then came back knock for knock 50/50, giving there reasons why, which were lies and nonsense..
I did as above, re stated my case very strongly again (they couldn't find my original stuff! Probablt went in the bin on day 1).
There were only two witnesses plus the two drivers, my wife was in the car with me and a so called independent witness who carried much more weight, (in their view), they supplied his address, it was a couple of doors away from the other bloke.
I pointed out that my wife was the only person excluding the drivers who got a clear view of everything and was not a liar.
As far this other bloke, who lived next door but one, how was he supposed to be independent. He was also around 80 metres away on the othjer side of the dual carriageway. They told me where he was stood, (outside an MOT centre), I went back and measured it!
The best bit was this blokes statement which my lot's "legal people" people obviously had not read.
He said he had clearly seen his "mate" look "left" before he drove out and never commented about if he had stopped, (he dign't), my reply was that as a statement that was useless as the obligation on a dual carriage way is to look right.
This bloke also said I was travelling at great speed.
I pointed out that if I had been his mate would be dead as I T boned him.
There was little real damage to either car just the plastics on the front of mine and a slight dent in his door, which indicated low impact speed, plus the fact that the police had measured the skidmarks on a damp road and found my speed to be OK.

In any case the evidence on their side was useless and the the police notes had not even been looked at.
I told them I would not accept anything less the 100% his fault and take them to court using this evidence if they did not achieve it.
They came back in about 10 to 14 days to say if would be 100% the other bloke and thanks for my help.

Not sure how all this works for you, but have you ever had a chance to look at all the "evidence".
I know you struggled to get any details at the time and even more getting the police to give you the other blokes details.
Go through it again, if they reckon it's 50% you, then they have to have something that substantiates this, negligence, high speed or something and this has to be proved as the other bloke is so obviously in wrong otherwise. How far were you thrown off the bike, damage to both vehicles etc, and can't remember were there any other witnesses?

Sorry to go on, hope it helps, don't give in to them.
Get well soon mate and good luck!

I had a claim years ago that went on like that - but I just kept repeating what had happened and that it was the other bloke's fault - even then they took it almost to the steps of the court appearence but settled the day before as I'd obviously shown that I would not back down or accept anything less than 100%.

I got everything - value of bike, clothing, time off work, expenses, pain and inconvenience. That was with a bike solicitor acting for me, he was great and persuaded me not to give up when I got fed up with it all!

Crikey, Andy. Just caught up with the latest on this. I can't add to what's already been expressed but I just wish there was something we could do to lift that black cloud that's hanging over you guys.

Had a bit of a lift yesterday .... as many will know I'm a season ticket holder at the local, very troubled football club.
I was going to go to the match and take the car but it wouldn't start (battery issues).
There was nothing for it but to take the "Alternative Transport" .... yes the Falco has flown - with me and my son on board.
With the "fog" only in one eye and my glasses on, it was not that difficult - foggy fays are infinitely worse.
Ribs held up well too.

That was good .... though you can imagine the reaction from the Mrs when she found out ....

Now to get the more serious problems sorted .... particularly Joy's situation
