Bring your bike over to Cov for the MOT to the place Will & I go. Pete will treat it with respect, won't fail you for anything silly and if you are in to old bikes you'll enjoy nosing around his place while he does the MOT on yours.
Last time I was there, a chap turned up with a pristine Squariel 650 for its MOT and the last couple of times I've been there he's had Vincents being rebuilt.

Tell him Will or Andy put you on to him. Top bloke. Could be wrong, but I'm pretty certain he doesn't do the weekends any more.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.
When I was there last he told me that Norm does some weekends. Best thing is to ring and talk.Willopotomas wrote:Magpie Motorcycles

USA V UK?
So is it better to get a USA stand and hope it is one of the good ones... any way of telling?
or use one of the various mods such as the cbr 1000 rr ?

Re: USA V UK?
I ran a Suzuki stand for a while but when the actual bracket got bent on the ferry, I bit the bullet and got a US stand. Wished I'd done it from the beginning because believe me, its WAY stronger and rigid.flatlander wrote:So is it better to get a USA stand and hope it is one of the good ones... any way of telling?

If you get a US there's nothing to hope for. They are all the same and the obvious difference (apart from the leg) it the mounting bracket has a three bolt fixing instead of 2. Most grind off the 3rd bolt hole but I kept it (needed minor dremmeling on the engine) as it only adds to the strength of the thing.
Got mine direct from AF1 brand new. Bit pricey but it came in 5 days and IMO, its the only solution.
See for yourself.....................
