Similar response from the Futura chaps on AF1mangocrazy wrote:Andy's being diplomatic. Don't bother; there are MUCH better options out there for a lot less than the price of a new Hagon shock. The Hagon shock will probably be a slight improvement on the standard Sachs. You deserve better than that.

You will easily be able to pick up a used Öhlins from a Mille or Tuono, for about 150 or so, just check on the what shock fits page to ensure you get the correct linkages and dogbones. A few of us have done this and the cost of a shock service and the shock will easliy be cheaper than getting a new one. I'm finally getting round to having mine fitted tomorrow and dialled in at PDQ near Maidenhead, and it's costing no more than 150, and that's with them sorting the bearings out too.

I went out on falco yesterday and saw a black falco going opposite. i spun round and caught up with him he must have been slowing down has i have heard somewhere black is fastest
turned out to be olig7475
i managed to look at his mods has we stopped for a chat
the mille swingarm was gorgeous
and i looked at his shock and linkages. he commented how good a condition my sachs shocker was, but the bike has just under 6000 miles
i think an ohlins shocker is the way to go but talking to oli i realise now it can be a long drawn out process to get my falco to where i want it and money of course. these are the mods i want to do
new wheels (oz) painted gold
rear swinging arm and shock (mille)
new belly pan (but have one on order)
full re spray (not grey) i know what i would like but that is also down to money
side stand on order from nooj
i would also like to say for the age and mileage oli has one of the nicest looking bikes i have ever seen it truely is a credit to the falco,s and what can be done with these bikes. thanks oli for taking the time

Yes it was good to see another sweet sounding Falco on the road and would you believe it a fellow RiderSite dweller to boot. Nice to stop and chat, compare, discuss the Falco obsession. Jay your bike has great potential with such low mileage it will be a rare thing one day, but be patient the mods will come in time!!!!
Having said all that I’m now considering what I thought would be the unthinkable a while ago………..my trusty gal might have to be sold off! A very good job offer abroad, if I accept, will mean she has to go. It will be hard to sell it with all the work and the incredible mechanical learning curve I’ve been through with this bike, it will be a sad day, not to mention the £££££££’s that I’ve spent.
She will have to be sold with all the mods on, as I sold off the original stuff as I went along (apart from the cans) I know 2001 bikes with high mileage (29k) don’t fetch a lot but with all the extras I would hope to make £2.5-2.7k, am I being wildly optimistic?
A few of the latest pics

Mods include;
Gloss Black genuine OZ rims
Ohlins shock (with recent rebuild from Reactive Suspension)
Accossato Billet Radial Brake & Clutch MC’s & Levers
RSV Mille Swingarm
RSV Mille Switch Gear
RSV Mille Four Pad Callipers
Hell Braided front lines
Bewolf End Cans
GABRO Chip
Brand new chain & sprocket
Bellypan
Meta Alarm / Immobiliser
Fully Stamped Service History
CF front mudguard
