Pyramid Plastics DB Futura screens - other colours

#1 Post by MartDude » Sat May 14, 2011 11:53 am

Out of interest (I'm vaguely toying with the idea of going back to a DB screen, partly because I'm seriously thinking I need bar-risers) I asked Pyramid if they can do their DB screens in shades other than the dark smoke, the only choice listed on their web-site.

Seems they can :

Hi Martin

Yes I can order the screen in light smoke or clear at the same price as the smoke one.

To order please email with full delivery address and card details.

Hey Mart,

They should be able to make the screen any coulour or depth of shade you want.

I know a little about plastic casting (not that I've actually done any) and the piece will be made with a clear material and the smoke/shade/colour is merely a pigment added to the screen material while it's liquid.

If you want something specific they should be able to accommodate you, but might want you to pay for a whole bottle of the specific pigment (not hugely expensive). If the pigment is likely to contaminate their mould thhey would probably charge you for a new mould, which would make it more expensive again, although I think mould wouldn't pick up any pigmentation.

If you want something bespoke just ask them they seem to be pretty accommodating from their original reply.
