Lol.... No fear ;)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

My have to try first with the Falco oil cooler due to money being spent already getting exhaust and having it tweaked and the oil tank as well .....and the fact that the misses has now found out as well ... :smt005 Couldn't really hide it as i had to get her to post the thing off to Mark to have it done and the bloody ebay receipt was in the box .........BUGGER !!

Your right about not looking forward to cutting into my lovely freshly painted ( and dare i say great looking ) bellypan but if it's going to work it has to be done ....

Not a job to do after a good night on the lash then i suppose ... :smt009

Thought they did that so the nose looks bigger when naked !!

Anyway going back to the exhaust is there or does anyone know if there is an underseat exhaust that would fit once the single exhaust mod is made ......been thinking it may look good when done or could something like the Honda CBR single can be made to fit ? I know there's one on ebay as we speak for an RSVR but it's home made so not sure how good it is ......:- 320696339524

All just ideas but then that's how we get there in the end .......well that's what they say :smt009

currently on evilbay there is an exhaust that fits into the rear light cluster of an rsv mille.... i guess that is the one you are talking about?

definitely not read legal though!

with the falco, and where our ecu is, i do not think it would be a good idea...

i would be loathe to try it.....

All that warm air under your ass would be good for long distance in the winter ........didn't think of that about the ECU though hence the reason why i ask the pros !!

Will have to carry on looking and thinking about what to do next :smt013 ............keeps me awake during night shift though .

Have you had a look at the exhausts that pierre did a few years ago - under seat (or was it through seat) for the rear pot and the front one within the bellypan.
It's either on here or the archived old Aprilia Ridersite - have a bit of a search.

Will have a look D-R thanks , don't want anything that's going to cause to much hassle cause as stated before i'm not that good when it comes to using the hands for making things ......BREAKING things then yes i'm your man !! The underseat one for sale for the RSVR i thought may have been alright as i thought the ECU was in the same place as the Falco but like Aladin said it will get hot and it's not road legal although that's not really a problem ..........well unless you get caught !!

There is another one on ebay , high rise with a stubby can but not sure about that , was thinking have a bracket made to fix to the rear footrest mounts to keep it in place but again not sure , too much time on my hands thinking about it.

May see what i get for my Rene's then make you an offer for the black shotguns you've got stashed somewhere ..... :smt073

I thought the rsvr also had the ecu unit and battery in the same place us we do on the Falco which would mean same undertray would it not or is there a length issue again ?? Seen some other RSVR's with under tail exhausts and was wondering how they'd keep their euc "cool" so to speak while riding ?

Battery box often covered by a heat reflecting pad,due to the pipework.. dunno about the ECU, I think due to the cans being in that proximity, there's less heat in that area.. normal 'underseats' arent actually underseats so much as 'almost underseats'. They wont fit under without problems. Anything pipe exhaust can-wise thats underneath 'properly' is going to give the same probs as pipework on it's own, so probably using heat reflecting padding (sheets of..) will do the trick.
Proper underseats will be a pain in the ass. I remember the idea being shitcanned at Renegade due to the intricacies and problems they cause. They will be blatently illegal for the road so a. youll meet team filth on a regular basis, b. theyll be loud as fuck c. youll have to strip the lot out for MOTs.

Theyd look good for show but most here ride their bikes rather than show them, so i reckon if you want to go for underseats, Buy a Ducati and get some Termis... :smt005

I was thinking about where the ecu was on our bikes - and having an rsv exhaust system I sized up where the box etc would be - round about where the pipes would come up.... so ecu probably would have to move.... and that makes me nervous - as does having something that hot near my electrics - heat shields or not - makes me too nervous

btw, I will be posting some photos later of my exhaust system so that you will be able to see how i have fitted the mille headers, oil tank etc

it will be in a separate thread in the tech section
