No 1999 is too early they have the old style of mid section ..... as shown here:
Image

I think they changed on 2001 to the style I posted previously - so 2001-3 seems the thing to go for.

I have done the Mille exhaust conversion but not yet added the balance pipes that Pete has done.

The Mille exhaust alone is not really a performance mod - it changes the appearance (shows off the swinger better), gives you a wider range of exhaust cans and requires the cost of only a single can.

The mid range boost comes when you take this and mod the mid section with the balance pipes.

I went for the shiny stainless rsvr oil tank - i think the year <2003 makes no difference

re the oil cooler - andy changed it over, i kept my falco one - I bought some oil feed tubing and routed it so fits and works - sort of an up and over solution - the pipework is not really visible but andy's is neater - i cannot remember how long the length of tube i used was but - less than 50 cm

do get the later mid section - the early ones will not do you any good

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

For oil tank / cooler: Agreed.

I originally kept the Falco cooler and did a bit of cunning routing with oil lines. TBH I didn't do a bad job and I think you'd struggle to do it more neatly than I achieved (you certainly couldn't see it) but it always grated with me when there was a better solution in the Mille cooler .... so when one came up, I bought it and fitted it.

Yeah the Falco one can be lashed up to work .......

mutters

i agree that even though it cannot be seen, it does not look as good - BUT i do get a buzz from having made a solution to something.... rather than just cheat and go buy a part that just happens to be a perfect fit and stuff

Ok so i've been looking and came across this on evil bay : -

170371282654 ; - ebay number

Looks like the one i want but have emailed to ask for a photo from the top just to check it against the one D-Rider put up .......

Aladin i would like nothing more to be able to get my hands dirty and make some sort of mod which would make all this work but ........and i'm being honest .....I'M SHIT !!! :smt005 So i find the only way anything like this is ever going to happen is if i end up paying for it unforunately and get some one with the skill and talent to do it for me .........I'm the type of bloke who looks at a nut and then goes through all the spanners in my box before getting the right one instead of being able to go "that's a 12 mm " .........You know what i mean ... :smt009

Just had the call to go back to work again so now have a couple of weeks to think about what i'm going to do ......may get the exhaust and then see if i can get one of the lads D-Rider mentioned to do the hard work and then i'll fit it ........... :smt005

Lol ok

But we all start somewhere.... And I have my spanners hanging up in order as I do not recognise them immediately....

And that is the early mid section - so leave it be

Yep - 'tis definitely the wrong exhaust.

I know the listing says from a 2002 bike .... but that's clearly a 2002 registered bike that was built a few years before .... a frequent occurrence with these bikes and it doesn't make sourcing parts any easier.

Thanks for the heads up on that exhaust i thought i'd ask as it didn't look like the one you had shown earlier , will have to carry on looking . Got as little something new being fitted tomorrow hopefully so should be posting some photos , i'll even be fitting it myself .....god help me !!! :smt017

I tried hanging my spanners up as well but all the f##king nails fell out so i keep them in the box now .. :smt005

Dunno about that - we've just been about for enough years to pick up bits and pieces from those on here and other Falco/Aprilia forums/websites that have been about longer than us - some of whom have now moved on.
We then regurgitate it - and from time to time we have been known to get some things right .... which is a bonus.

Now I'm confused .... :smt017 .... the one I said "yes" to in my last post is the one you've just posted the link to ... the one you posted the ebay number for, Ive never seen before (though it looks OK) ..... have you been tinkering with your posts?

Bellypan looks nice but IMHO doesn't really go with the bronze ..... I think you might need to visit Mr Dulux to emulsion the rest of the bike. There again, I never know what things go and what don't.
