Here are 2 of the noisiest planes ever in one pic.
Guess where.

In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

I used to live practically at the end of the Finningley runway.
I lived in Everton on the carrs but we worked on farms around Misson, Misterton etc.
My Granpa was a big "spotter" being in the RAF/Paras during the second world war.
They were based at Finningley when I lived there around about 1978/79 if my memory serves me well.
I loved seing them on a regular basis and being under them at the end of the runway when they were taking off.
Lovely piece of engineering sadly missed.

Anything you can do .... oh and it seems we have more Lightnings than you

I can play that game too. I see your Lightnings, Vulcan and the rest and raise you a Lancaster, F111, Concorde, Vulcan, ME109, Hurricane, Spitfires, Consolidated Catalina,..... need I continue?
If anyone's interested, here's the full list of air land and sea weaponry at Duxford:

Actually, looking at the Vulcans, it's interesting that they share the same Camo pattern.
Gonna go check XH558..
