Ah! I did wonder, surely he could have gone for something a bit more exotic, unless he's been there done that (biking i mean, not Mrs Griff?!!)

Well still a few bits to finish off and the Hook airkit is yet to be fitted but she's back on her wheels and I'm very pleased with how she's turned out so far. I just wish I'd taken some photos of how she looked when we dragged her out of the barn!

Looking great Rich - I like the rad covers and in-fills in the side fairing panels. Wheels look good too. Are the powder coated? I see you kept the SL Carbon cans from the old bike.... or did you find some new ones?

The bike already had the SL cans and chip fitted and the wheels were painted by the same bloke who did the cut down fairing I got from D-Rider

I did get the standard exhausts as well so overall it was a bit of a steal really

Looking good, almost as shiny as mine!

Have you raised the ride height a lot, or does it just look further from the ground as there's no belly pan?

My first mod is as good as finished, just needs a little tidying up. No. 2 is getting there, it runs without flames shooting out of each end now, just need to get the running a bit less lumpy. No.3 mod is on hold due to the eternal lack of funds :-(

Shineeee! Glad you sorted the side panels out so what did you get up to Rich as thre's looks like a lot of work involved??

The main job was to strip the bike down to almost just the engine left in the frame stage and start properly cleaning, checking, re-greasing and refurbishing.

About 95% of all the fasteners on the bike have been replaced with stainless steel which I've polished

Its also had :-

CNC top yoke & Renthal bars conversion
Futura Throttle cables
RSV Shock & linkages
New EBC brake pads all round
New Braided hoses all round
Hook Airkit (still to be fitted)
2nd hand fairing sub-frame cut down to suit the fairing
Replacement cutdown fairing (sourced via D-Rider -thanks mate) resprayed to match the bike
Cut down screen (again via D-Rider)
Wheels re-painted
New Talon 15-43 sprockets
New Shiver indicators
Gold mesh radiator guards & side panel infills
New fluid covers
Full service, inc plugs,oil & filter change and a coolant change
Ventura Rack & support bars
Swinging arm mirror polished
All footrest assemblies & heel guards mirror polished
Levers mirror polished
Full exhaust system polished (goes brown again almost immediatlely but at least its clean now and doesn't have 12k miles of crud on it)
Evolution tail tidy
New Pirelli Diablo Corsas

As always though, its been a thoroughly enjoyable time. These bikes as so nice to work on

Now I just want to get it MOT'd, taxed & insured and get out on it. I've just booked a weekend trip to Scotland in May for its inaugural run!

Cripes, wouldn't have patience, knowledge or where with all to do that, worth it though as it looks like new

All my stuff's cosmetic,, take my hat off to what you and Rick have done. Have still got the switch gears to replace on Friday, then i've got to give the Scotoiler a go and modify the airbox by removing the top half, Griff is putting a new rear sprocket on the rear, going for 16/43... I can only do the work when i'm visiting parents in Leics!

It's SORN'd until end of March so haven't ridden since October

Looks absolutely excellent, Rich. I'm well impressed with the look of the exhaust system; that must have taken some work. Didn't decide to have the 'zorst ceramic coated this time?

I think my No.2 mod is complete (or as complete as I can get it) 54mm throttle bodies. Cured the petrol leak (more of a jet than a leak), got it to idle at about 1300-1400 fairly evenly and balanced the TB's OK, will see how it runs tomorrow on a ride round the block. Need to tax it first though.

They were a bit tatty when I got them, so I had them painted the same gold as the calipers and replaced the nasty steel fasteners with gold titanium and black aluminium ones. The stacks are not seated properly in this picture, but they are on the bike now.

It looks like a real F9 bike now Rich, especially with the effort you've put in, I ain't got that much patience any more at my age!
The screen/fairing looks quite different cut down that way, and I'm 50/50 on it at the moment. I like hiding behind my dark double bubble, but this gives it a completely different look.
Does it cause any more turbulence?
