How anyone can justify charging £650 for a coat and £500 for a pair of trousers ............

Whatever it's made from I just can't get my head around how it can cost that much (or who would pay that much)

...... and that's the sale price!

Did you ever price up the BMW branded suits? IIRC they were in that order of stupid expensive.

Undoubtedly right BG but who are these insane people that will pay that sort of money?
People have bought Falcos in reasonable nick for a similar price to a set of those!

There are some motorcyclist locally who belong to the Advanced Riders thingy who probably think there is no other kind of clothing they could possible wear, just as there is no bike other than BMW.......

Lots of people seem happy to pay that sort of money to buy similar kit made from what is left over from a cow when it gives up its silly life to become something that us humans urgently need, like McD's fodder.
So why shouldn't you pay the same for something constructed after years of development and testing and then often from very expensive petro chemical products.
And it keeps you dry when cows don't!

Then again, yes it's too bloody expensive!
and it doesn't even include a blow (up) job when you fall off!

£1150 and they're 'On Sale'. I don't think so.

You can get perfectly good textile stuff for a quarter of that price. The RST stuff even has Knox armour in it and keeps you warm and dry in most weather conditions. And if you're a bit clever with the zips you can stay cool in summer too. I still wouldn't like to crash in it though.

Or cheaper still if you get down to Lidl or Aldi's sharpish. I bought one of the Lidl textile jackets last year, and at £57 it was an absolute bargain. Toasty-warm, zip out lining etc. etc.

If it lives up to it's promise and will work equally well in the middle of winter or summer, is incredible comfortable and hard wearing and will last years, then it's well worth the price.

Will it do all that though in all honesty???

Now my two regular riding mates are both BMW jockies and there is a certain one upmanship about those types. One has the new K13000s - loads of gadgets (that he never uses) and very fast (but he doesn't keep up with the Falco). He has the very suit that Andy has commented on, he also has a heated vest, heated gloves, heated grips (bloody plugs and wires everywhere. The other guy is pretty much the same but has the full BMW textile suit (He sent it back after 3m cos it was letting water in)

I've got a Dannisport textile jacket , very warm and waterproof, quite sporty and good body armour (£55 from the bike show about 6 years ago)some decent but not expensive overtrousers I've got the Aldi full set of thermal base layer and I'm always as warm and dry as he is.

Nuff said.
