BenWah's Falclimber campaign

#1 Post by MartDude » Mon Sep 27, 2010 5:46 pm

If any of you lot fancy supporting BenWah next season, I can offer accommodation for some events - we're only about 15 mins. from Shelsley Walsh, and a good hour from Loton Park. We've usually got two spare rooms (except when the Daughter of Darkness is home from uni). And floors. Not suitable for those with allergy/aversion to cats & dogs.

OldGit - you're reasonably close to Shelsley - would you be prepared to offer digs too?
Hishy - ditto for Loton Park?

Perhaps Ben could post up dates for next season when they're available?

It would be good to support a fellow RS member by being there to cheer him on.

Dates for Shelsley have been announced and are the following:

Saturday 2nd July
Saturday 17th September

I'll post more dates soon - the AGM is this coming weekend, so dates will be finalised! Then the Falco tour can commence.

Yes - get the dates up and we'll put them on the Aprilia Ridersite Calendar.

It'd be good to have some impromptu ARS meets as the hillclimb circus travels around the country. Like a travelling show - roll up to the Falco big top!

There's always a cup of coffee on the go. If it's the evening, then a beer or two will be available too. Pop in, say hi and poke fun at the Falco without the fairing...

Most of us will be looking to pinch ideas from it. Or in the case of Aladin, actual parts of the bike.

Am willing to bet there is no hill climb event in Norfolk....

(mr cowerd was right!)

And would I acquire stuff like that? It's normally badger pubescent that goes scavenging for old buggers etc...

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I'll certainly try to make the Harewood Hill Round (if there is one this year)

Likewise, gotta try and get to some Northern rounds after failing dismally last year (Sorry Ben!)

Probably been posted before but there is some video of Ben here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2TjnlH_b4U

(around the 4 min mark - Super smooth but that bloody KTM looks FAST!!!)

More video's of the same event by the same youtube poster too.

Cheers - Frank

Here's another from the top ten run off. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ntk86S_ ... ata_player

Looks can be deceiving. Yes, he is damn fast, but the Falco was 6th overall and first in class - ahead of the big orange supermoto. :smt003

However, the pukka supermotos are unfeasibly fast.
