Hey Scottie :smt006

Don't listen to that lot, leave it standard and be unique :smt002

too late - already got the sidestand off and cut up. I am going to shorten it very slightly and turn the "pad" around as a first experiment before I buy a VTR one.

Cans next, then shock ( spring feels very soft?)

yep welcome sir,

I must admit I came on to the forum with very little knowledge of bike mechanics/maintenance....

still have very little, but these guys have helped inject a fair amount of confidence to give anything a go.

Sounds like you have a bit already

Enjoy the bike

re the shock

after many years of perusing this forum, i have to say... its shite

a fair few choices of replacement - ranging from the white spring mille sachs unit to the ohlins ....

i suggest that you read http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/show ... p?t=162440

for what i suspect is many of us, the white spring mille shock, correctly refurbed and set up is more than adequate
(Says he with the WP kit....)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Go for Ohlins or Penske .....both very good and make a massive difference and well worth the money........

Any rear shock that fits is better then what's there so change it young man change it..........make Ebay your new friend and remember to check rsvr's as well for Ohlins shocks. You will find one at some point .... ebay number : - 200519282400

Been looking at updating the videos as well Aladin although weather isn't really helping much , like everyone else i'm waiting on the sun.........and a 6 number lottery win !! :smt005

Belated welcome, Scottie, I've just got back off holiday.
Sounds like a great find, enjoy!!
As for the headlight, never noticed mine was EU until Andy put the details up on the site, it has passed 6 MOTs with this unit without a mebtion so far!
