Falco has to go..
I only use my bikes for commuting at the moment and money is tight so I decided to sell the Falco. It has been very difficult to shift it. Just no demand for a Falco here. I would rather keep it than give it away. But the deciding factor is that the Falco does less mpg than my 1.6 Astra. I might have the option of trading it privately for a 8000 mile FZS600 Fazer, with some cash. I will never work out why the Falco remains one of biking's best kept secrets, despite all the good press it gets. This is only a problem when you need to sell them on. Why did they never catch on? Beats me.
I'm sorry to hear that you're selling and that living where you do, you only commute on two wheels. I know what you mean about the fuel consumption. For me, it's resulting poor range spoil it as a tourer, and the cost of fuel puts me off using it for my 130 mile round trip commute. However, it's such a great bike that I've taken cold feet twice when trying to sell it. Good luck whatever you do.

Dirty deed has been done. I am know back to a Fazer, nine years after selling one - for a Falco. Had a few other bikes in between. but this is the first time I have been Aprilia-less for 10 years. I will keep looking at the forum and at least I can now afford to buy my wife's Christmas present... We are building a house at the moment and 50-60 miles per gallon is what is needed. Just can't justify the extra fuel just to travel to work.
Strill have my trusty Triumph so there is still a choice, albeit not so stark.

I am sure there must be some Fazer or ex-Fazer owners here. Fazers are as common as muck! Just spent a couple of hours doing some general fettling. As the usual Jap bike problems due to poor build quality. However the worse thing is a fair amount of superficial corrosion on the forks. The japanese never quite got the hang of applying protective lacquer. Aprilias are built much better. However, the rest of it is good. Apparently, it spent some time doing nothing but covered in a grease layer. 9000 miles in 12 years says light use.
I am crap at choosing forum names. IsleFalco here and FutIsle on the US site. Total lack of imagination. I will just stick with it!

Sorry the Falco had to go mate, but do understand your reasons.
Hope the Fazer works out well for you, they are nice bikes for commuting and fun as well.
Keep us up to date on how you get on, you are always welcome on here whatever you ride!
