That's brilliant news, and a big relief for you all.
Hope Boo is fully back to normal soon.

Well went up today to see her, she's got a bit of infection in her trachy hole.. which we put down to a certain nurse the other day when she moved to that ward who didnt change the dressing when repeatedly told to (asked at first).. took the whole of the afternoon to get them to change it when it should have been done in the morning first thing.. but other than that she is making good progress.
The biggest thing she'll have is the fact the college think it's best for her to sack the BTEC mechanics course she was enrolled on, reinburse us, then her to redo her course next year once she has got better and got over her illness. She is going to go absolutely beserk when I pass that on to her as she loves that course and was doing well before her illness.

They may well be right though, it would be stressful trying to catch up and stress is the last thing you need when recovering from a major illness. It's not like going back to a job where you can do a gradual return starting part-time.

Oh undoubtedly, the time off for illness, recovery, etc plus the added strain of catching up.
I explained this all to her and her reply was 'well Im doing the course, I'll just go in 5 days a week instead of 3 until i catch up'

:smt012 Told her we'd chat with her tutor. Thing is it really does fek up all her career plans, so she's more up for cracking on than waiting. Cant say I blame her to be honest although I dont think it's necessarily her best option.

Typical teenager, wants every thing straight away. (just like a Falco owner)
But when she's been as ill as she has, and so determined, I wouldn't like to be the one to say NO to her.
If it's what she wants, let her have a shot at it.
The worst that could happen is she'll have to have another go next year.
From what i've heard about Becky on here, she'll probably pass with flying colours.

Good luck Becky, go for it.

Very glad to hear things are moving in the right direction.

If Becky has to defer her college plans by a year, it's not a big deal at that age, tho' she may feel differently - plenty of time later to make it up

That girl sure doesn't do things by half, even recoveries!
She is now an outpatient and has just spoken to me from her home. That was a moving experience. :smt001
Tim will have to get back to work now to catch up on 6 weeks sleep. :smt002

:smt003 Yep, Young Boo is home! Still some loose ends to tie up, but the Docs seem to think she is 97% there, a bit of high blood pressure, some results still to take and to get answers back on, but overall she's better.

Work have been awesome, 6 weeks off and the last week Ive been doing half days, next week im kinda full time but doing my own thing and the focus from their view is still on her getting better and not military stuff. Cant fault my Squadron at all. I hopefully shoot back to Oman in January for 6 weeks so i can avoid the New Years sales :smt003

Alad, I will send Sam a copy of the discharge letter as there's loads of wierd and wonderful terms that need deciphering (all renal stuff i believe) and he will forward it onto you if thats Ok, Boo is happy for you to read it and see if you can explain it in English. She just wanted to get the fek out of the hospital so didnt want to hang around to ask the Docs there.

Oh and she's had a Maccy D, so She's clearly functioning correctly for a teenager...

We've spoken about the college thing and she's definately got the first place on the course next time, she's still got all the books and her tutor is sweet on her and says if she wants to do all the stuff kinda at home with the odd bit of support from him, then she'll be able to waltz thru the first year of the next course with absolutely no pressures on her. She's happy enough with that and we're going to square some other things away for the gap year too

no probs at all tim

he can either scan it and send it to me, or post or what ever

if we can do that before you slope off to play with the camel jockeys that would be cool

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

What excellent news!

Hope it won't be long before it all seems like a bad dream.
