Got a call from Wimbledon police station last night saying they had recovered a bike fitting the description without the number plate. I went down there and there she was sitting along side about 20 different motorbikes and about 300 push bikes!!!! Apart from the smashed steering lock all looks ok. Bike being recovered by the wheelpower guys today to check for any other damage. I must say the police have been excellent.
The story I was told is that a van was pulled over and five bikes were found in it. It seems a polish gang have been stealing hundreds of bikes all over London over the past few months and shipping them back to Poland!!!!!.
The gyt at the dealers told me that an RSV4 factory was taken from the front of a shop in London in broad daylight just a few days ago.
Loads of the bikes that had been recovered at the nick had large heavy chains still on them and they had just been lifted. The police also told me that even if you chain it to something its becoming really common for the scum to angle grind the chains off and chuck them in a van.
Trackers? apparantly these bikes can be shipped out of the country in containers within a few hours?

Excellent result!

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

Hi Ian, really glad to hear you've got your bike back - and that it's largely OK. Bit of a result all round.
However what I'd like to do to the scummers that nicked it is not fit for general consumption. Suffice it to say that they'd have trouble performing any motor functions if I had my way.

Stick the feckers in the container they'd hired and drop them off on the way back to Poland!
Glad you got it back and I suppose the fact that it was stolen to sell on rather than joy ride is a bit of a relief.

Hi Ian,
Glad you got a happy ending to this, after the worry it must have caused.
This scum should be deported if they commit any crime when they come scrounging over here.

glad you got it back
and yes - bike thieves should be required to do community service
wearing big pink shirts stating what they have done
at the bulldog bash
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
