Agree with all that's been said and I'd like to add - Tim, it's not true that big boys don't cry! If you want to go and blubber in a corner, do it! It may well help release some of the tension and help you to cope, god knows you have a lot of weight to carry and I'm sure your family are all relying heavily on you.

Yes - as with everyone else my thoughts and prayers are with you all and especially Boo.
Despite the awful time she's just had I guess it's positive that one of the docs thinks he might piece together what's going on.
Best wishes

Keep your strength up Tim.
If it means you have to go off and shed a few tears or throw a private wobbly somewhere so be it.
Just try to keep it positive for Boo and the family, cos they all need you mate.
You will get through this, I'm sure.

Keep going Tim.
It can sometimes be two steps forward and one back, but as long as Becky is heading in the right direction, keep positive.
Thinking of you and your family, and praying this won't take long before it's over.
If you want to let off steam, then let it go, what harm can it do, only do you good.

A quick update and to correct my last.
As I understand it the last crisis was not the underlying prob (which they are still struggling to identify) raising it's ugly head, but a new infection which is now being treated.
In that respect todays news is a little better and Becky is currently less sedated.
That little body is sure taking some punishment!

In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.
We're surviving..
Boo is doing well. Theyve found why she was having the fits and seizures, it's because of something called Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES). My medical mates may wish to Google it, but for us normal folk, it's basically a form of water on the brain, in Boo's case caused by the blood pressure fluctuations and her underlying illness. It's treatable, reversible and wont affect her from what the Doctors can tell.
Second good thing of the day is that she is coming round. She opened her eyes to Mum and Dad holding her hands, which was perfect timing, it meant she wasnt instantly panicking and we could calm her down instantly about the tube. We've chatted to her and got sensible responses so we know she's still all there mentally, which is good.
She's really fucked off (technical term) about being on the tube again but she understands she needs it and is putting up with it. She's seriously not happy though. She feels she has taken a big leap back, which medically, she hasnt really.. She was always 'that ill' just it hadnt quite kicked off inside her.
Anyways, the PRES was due to this other as yet unidentified illness, there's some right wierd and wonderful departments that have visited her, im sure one of them said they were from Defence against the Dark Arts, but He was foreign, so maybe it was Outer Mongolian Sheepherding Illnesses or something.
Theyre still drawing a blank as to what the underlying illness is, which is quite disturbing considering how far spread the call has gone out with regards testing. Where they thought she could have cancer of the kidney, theyre quite sure it isnt and it's something else.
Im thinking of calling into the Vet with a sample of her blood, see if they can come up with anything.. 'cos the normal medical channels are stumped at the mo.

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
I shall drop it into conversation with the Neuro doc. He's been taking the lead. I know theyve been talking to the renal guys a lot and theyve visited her lots so they should be all over it like a rash, but there's never harm in mentioning stuff.
Our Nursey old next door neighbour came up and sat with Boo for an evening, she ended up getting more and more would up with the Nurse on duty.. Boo's blood pressure was something like 60 over 30 and heading downwards.. She had mentioned it about 4 times, in a suggestive manner to put more fluid through Boo and bring her pressure up and it wasnt until she threatened loudly to do it herself and take over the shift that the Nurse in question did something about it. Our mate was fuming. I think she reported it on her exit from the hospital.

your friend was right
but - rules are different in itu - they may have been keeping her bp deliberatly low to prevent renal/portal hypertension...
BUT - the nurse should have explained that imho
