Hard to say what's best for you - if twin pipes, a Falco map may be better but then you've other mods too.cornish mafia wrote:ok will start caling around for another dynol cost , was looking at maps for a falco not tuono ...
Pete & I both have Mille/Tuono 2:1 headers - mine was awful with a Falco map.
Find those Mille/Tuono/Falco maps whose descriptions best match your bike and try them.
Obviously don't try anything that's very different or you run the risk of running too rich or too lean (and get too far - particularly in the lean direction and you can have real problems)

due to the open air box, and open cans i think mille tuono is more likely to be a match tbh
i tried all the falco maps when i first fitted my pc3 - and my bike was fairly standard back then.... just fuel exhausts and that was it i think. I think i started to look closely at the mille and tuono maps when i fitted the evo kit and the blue flames - and had far better results
I would just point out that this is only a stopgap measure untill you get your own personal map done

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

ffuuuucccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk ME !!! Well that's it i give up you guys win ....never never never am i ever going to lift that tank again and pretend i know what i'm doing .......Plug in the two wires to get your DIAG up on the screen , TPS ( KNOW WHAT IT IS BUT WHERE IS IT !!! ) , ADJUST SOMETHING OR OTHER , TWO SCREWS ON THE SIDE FOR MIX OR WHAT EVER so away i played
.............Like i said well well well over my small cornish nut .....needless to say after half hour of playing so to speak i went to start it up .........yes i unplug the two wires .........and NOTHING !!! Not even a cough AAHHHHHHHHHHH
Gave up went to the beach with the kids to drown them and let go of my anger .......got back about two hours later ( kids still alive ) still thinking " WHAT THE F##K HAVE I DONE" went to the garage switched it on and BLAM ....she's up and running again .... Great thinks I so as quick as i could i put it all back together and that is how i've left it .................................AND all that before i even tried to fit the PC 111 .......
This is the very short story and yet again proof that a man who has no idea about what he's looking at should leave things well alone .........Trying to get it booked in to have it sorted once and for all , PC111 fitted and dyno'd to be running spot on ......and if that means the kids don't eat well ......so be it !!!

Right here goes ....update !!!
Bike is running again and all is well , fitted PC3 and have loaded map onto it , tried the 54mm throttle body one first from the tuono map , went OK with anything over 5000rpm but below that is like a bag of spanners . Still missing loads between 3 - 5 so still not right . Trying to get these things set up is proving loads more hassle then thought . Can't get in anywhere down here for a dyno run and fix for at least two weeks so looks like i may have to travel near 300 miles there and back to get the dam thing working right .........
Will be honest and say over 6 thou it is flying but do have a problem with the throttle now , it's either on or off at the moment which is fun when mid corner trying to wind it on gentle ......... Should i take out the gabro chip i have in it and swap it back to the standard one ?
Only got just over two weeks left at home now and would like to get it done before going back to sea .........

No harm in seeing what that does. You'll need to balance your throttle bodies as well as so much has changed. That'll help to cure a rough idle and a jerky throttle response. Did you say you'd reset the TPS? If not, do it, that'll help smooth things out again.Should i take out the gabro chip i have in it and swap it back to the standard one ?

have put in the map you said i should try at the moment Aladin ( 907 - 503 ) so maybe i'll have to try something else .........will be real honest lads and say i havent' got a f##king clue when it comes to this sort off thing and not sure if the throttle bodies need setting up first before i try and get the PC3 to take over or should the PC 3 do it all for me anyway ?
Just out of Interest Paddy how would i change a map to run better lower down .....is it cut and paste or is it a lot harder then that ?
Will be looking to book the dam thing in for next week somewhere to get this sorted , so close yet so far at the moment .....
Also if i was to set the TPS which when i plug in the DIAG is ready +1 or on the Pc 3 is ready 5% on tick over , should i do that at the sensor or by the PC 3 ?
Honestly any help , links , tips would be appreciated .........

All the PCIII does is send electronic signals to the injectors and the ECU, it has no effect on the physical position of the TPS, the bypass screws or the butterflies in the throttle bodies. Both the throttle bodies and TPS are physically adjusted with nuts, bolts, screws and ultimately fingers, if they're set up wrong then no amount of map tinkering will fix the issue, so do those first.
I haven't played with the PCIII software for ages, but IIRC it works just like an Excel spreadsheet, you change some of the numbers, either individually or as Paddy says by cutting and pasting chunks from another map, then 'Save as' something else, so you don't over-write your original map.
Having finally tracked down some 54mm stacks, I'll soon be attempting the same things as you

I had a chat with the man who does drag racing , albeit on a low scale , and he pretty much just said what you did so i was all set to hand the bike over to him for a bit on tuesday but got called back to bloody work early AGAIN so now will have to wait till i get back at the end of the month before finally getting round to getting the bike done .....
I have been playing with maps and although it's not a fix i have found a different map that does seem to work better as it is ...........i filled the tank the other day went out for a good blast and had the light come on with only 72 miles on the clock , now even though it's got 54's on it that can't be right ....can it
Once all this is done and it's running right and i'm happy i'm thinking of having it resprayed over winter in some sort of aprilia racing colours or Italian flag design , been looking but nothing really grabs me yet but i do want to keep he black frame and the black swinging arm so something that will work with that ......any ideas let me know ......
