No.. Not Oddkid (although he is odd.. very odd).. The side stand bolt appears to be 3/8BSF.. That's both the Aprilia standard stand and the Suzuki one i've got to modify to fit.

Please correct me if i'm wrong.. But 3/8BSF thread on a foreign bike just doesn't seam right?? Even though it fits a treat..lol..

Well we couldn't find a metric nut to fit so you're probably right.
Must be the sidestand supply base still use imperial threads!

Further investigation shows that the thread is M10X1.25.. NOT 3/8BSF as previously thought. Took the bolt out and got a thread gauge on it.

chances that i've not got, or not got access to, tools and other nice things, is slim.. Be easier to list what i haven't got or can't get hold of.. lol Ask Andy.. Came to the rescue a few times of late.. (just not with that specific helicoil set

What's a Thread Gauge ???

Don't tell me it's an extra gauge you can add by screwing into place somewhere.
Perhaps you could screw it in to replace the blanking plug at the top of the steering head.

Must go now and sort out my Whitworth and AF spanners!

P.S. Just had a different thought!

Is a Thread Gauge something we could use to work out how many threads are posted by Pete and Andy?

I'm sure Howard is only kidding, but it's really a thread pitch gauge - tells you what the thread pitch is (funnily enough). I too have one an very handy it is, too.

Incidentally, M10 threads are a real bugger - they come in three different pitch sizes that I'm aware of - M10 x 1.5 (standard metric coarse pitch), M10 x 1.25 (Japanese metric fine pitch) and M10 x 1.00 (European metric fine, as found on Brembo bleed nipples and banjo bolts).
