Thank you D-rider I will look this evening.

I have ordered a new set of Fuel cans and a K&N for starters, i'll see how these work out as i have a feeling I'll be quite content with these.

By the way this site is great regarding feedback and help.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I agree with all the previous comments regarding brake lines, slip ons’ (mine are Remus stainless and I rate them highly) etc.

As for tankbags I’ve used an Oxford (strap on as opposed to magnetic obiously) on my last two Euro trips with no problems – fits well and to refuel it’s just a case of unclipping the headstock strap and moving the bag back a smidge.
It has a Velcro adjusting system so you can adjust it fore and aft to put it just where you want it.

It was only about £50 so a good choice if only used infrequently.

You will find I’m one of the few on the forum trying to save you money. :smt002

The link Andy gave is for Ken's site - it's just a resource (set up by a guy called Ken, funnily enough :smt002 ) with lots of useful info on the Falco

Yes - I know who some of the other site owners are that have valuable Falco/aprilia info (Martin Poll's site is one that's really useful - Martin is a member of this forum) but I don't know anything about Ken.
His site was up and running before I first had my Falco and that's 5-years ago. It relocated itself last year - we were a bit concerned as we couldn't find it for a while.
Another excellent site was C-Plus' but that has gone now - though I have saved most of the information it held ....

Hi and welcome

I don't really have a lot to contribute as i'm new to all of this (biking) and was quite content with a standard bike...till i met this lot, have lost track of what i've spent so far! so hope you don't mind me adding my bit for what it's worth

For the record

Side stand- fitted the boobsywoo one which works a treat the only tricky problem i found was putting the spring back on, also watch the side stand switch as it may be plastic and like mine had broken off, had to replace with a ground down screw, others have used a bicycle spoke pin...you won't know until you lift it off

Cans- I paid quite a lot and went to Carbon Can (which is another story!) now they are on they look and sound great but your sorted on that anyway

Bellypan- This can be hasstle free or a pain as the drilled holes aren't brilliantly lined up so a bit of bending and pulling is required, after you've fitted the new side stand you may need to add a couple of washers at the back of the bellpan as it may catch

Mirrors- some have added Aprilia RS125 ones (i did), they are slightly longer, but you may be fine with the standard ones most people are

Indicators- changed to Tuono clear, lots have changed these together with a tail tidy...loads of advice/ideas elsewhere

Other misc bits i've done- Crash bungs, Mille white shock, Dark screen, upgrade headlight bulb, K&N filter, radiator grills

There always seems to be something more to do, don't know if thats good or bad!!

You'll be in you element on here! :smt003

You seem to have an interesting selection of other bikes, you'll have to tell us more about that lot when you get the time!

I have noticed that when riding there are one or two flat spots in the rev range. Not so much pauses just slight lack of power then it comes on strong again. Is this why most of you have fitted PC111 or chips?

Whether most of us have fitted chips or PCIIIs is something I'm not sure of.

They will be there for a number of reasons for that those of us that have done so.

One is that the factory set up is a compromise to meet noise and emissions regs rather than to optimise fuelling. PCIIIs with custom maps can optimise far better and chips designed for your configuration can too.

Other factors are that people will have changed airbox and/or cans from stock and the fuelling won't be optimum for the new set up - a PCIII can potentially sort this out - as can a chip matched for the configuration.

A lot of what some of us aim for is smoother response - particularly low-down - and are less concerned about ultimate power - though, obviously this can be improved too.

What would be interesting is how many have actually got a chip that is designed for their set-up or a PCIII with a custom map ..... I guess there are quite a few running chips that are ones they've (we've) acquired by hook or by crook and are running PCIIIs with a downloaded map that seems to work OK ..... along with an intention to get a proper custom map at some future point.
I certainly fall into that category ..... just waiting until I finish all of my mods .... which, of course, never happens!

D-rider

That's what I'm looking for, smooth consistant power not more of it as I really like the stock Falco. I'm going to stick with the Fuel cans and a K&N filter, maybe look at getting a map to suit these.

Interesting, never really knew what PCIII's and chips were all about, the more i use the bike the more i'm knowing what suits me. As i've just put on some new cans I've yet to check up on the air filter so will go down the K&N route and like you 'PH100' look at a map at a later date.

Have pressing things to do, rear shock/suspension set up and clutch slave so a trip to see Griff will be planned in sooner rather than later...when the funds permit!!
