Back on the hunt for a Falco - one that needs a 13k service?
Hello guys,
I am back looking for a Falco and have spotted one that's back on ebay but I am slightly concerned that it needs its 13k miles service.
Is there a lot to this service?
Just concerned about spending hundreds on a service as soon as i've bought it.
Cheers,
Andy.

The closest service is due at just under 14k miles and of the 2 varieties is the smaller/cheaper.winrow3745 wrote:Hello guys,

Not that hard to do that one yourself if you are mechanically able.

Mine hasn't had valve clearances done, bought it at 8.8k and its now on 11.4k... I did usual service when I got it (plugs, oil, filter) and will be doing valves and loads of other things (braided hoses, clutch slave seal blah blah) this winter when she is off the road for a month or two.
Its very easy to work on these bikes IMO so you should do any servicing yourself... especially when you have a great forum with great contributors such as this one :)
OT but when is the next meet? really must meet you all and remind you that red is the fastest colour :)

valves o the falco is a bit more difficult to what i am used to.
on the gpz, it was tank off, rocker cover off, whack out the feeler gauges, test, adjust, retest. i did it in half an hour once. i miss how easy thqat bike was to work on....
the falco is a pain because its shimmed. its evem more of a pain because its a v twin - two rocker covers etc and the rear is a right butch to get to.
And if they do need doing, there is quite a bit of disassembly required, looking at the diagrams.
mine is probably due a check as its on 22k, but im going to leave it until 26k and let a local dealer worry about that one, they can do the valve check and i will d the rest.
