tourer for a short arse
I am looking for a tourer to use two up, must have fairing and luggage and at least 1000cc.
I was very close to buying a Futura and I wish to say a big thanks to MartDude for checking it over for me. On Sunday I went to Newark and was hoping one would be there for me to try out but the Falco boys had scared them off so I tried out Aladinsanes instead. This Falco was to tall for me and is lower than the Futura.
So any suggestions (bike wise) would be welcome. I have a 29inch inside like and am ok with a saddle height of 31inch on tip toes.
Piss taking will be accepted as long as it is original.
Thanks all.

Would the budget allow a Honda CBF1000 (+ hard luggage)? Seat height 795 mm (= 31.3"). Think there's some seat height adjustment.
Or, BMW R1100/R1150 RS or RT. Some had seats as low as 780 mm. Don't know if lower seats are still available to retro-fit

Isn't spending other people's money great?

Lanky shisters the lot of ya..
When I was in Germany I tried a few bikes out in a showroom.
One of the old BMWs (before Cyclops styling). i could sit AND touch the floor, but then couldnt see thru the fucking screen..
and when I sat on a older Triumph, could touch one footed, but only if i wasnt sat on the seat... kinda with my other inner thigh where me arse should be..
and dont even ask about the bloody Honda Enduro thingy I couldve had for 300 quid, about 600 quid cheaper than listed as it was a mate's garage selling it as a part ex... but for the fact I couldnt get on the twat, even with the suspension fully wound down...
I did manage with my Triumph TT600.. somehow.. ...I think 'high kerbing' was partly my saviour..
Shortarse? whatever...

Hey Tim .... we're a family on here - always looking out for each other - trying not to step on one another (obviously easier for some than others).Kwackerz wrote:Lanky shisters the lot of ya..

Well, we may just have found the answer to your problems:
Special Help 1
or maybe these would put a spring in your step?
Special Help 2
AND they come from a bike shop

oh - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_R1200RT - low seat option
or http://www.bikersoracle.com/vfr/forum/s ... hp?t=98494 for a viffer
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

That was the model! Stupid boxhead heap of shite.
Whats the point in fitting a low seat if you arent going to hacksaw half the fairing off to match?!
BMW [x] Epic fail

BMW 800ST. The reason I suggest this is because a guy at work has just bought one - his first bike!!!! - how the rich live
Anyway, he's pretty short in the leg too. I'll check with him tomorrow and let you know his measurements, as it were, if that helps. He reckons it's fine as it is in standard set up.
