(BTW, I'm off down there tonight with a spray can of Bronze paint to finish the job and cover that black undercoat).
pissed myself when i read that - quite amusing for a bronze rider!! :smt006

talked to my brother in law who works for a little company called rolls royce, where he makes/designs afterburners. He reckons the new eurofighter has really pissed a lot of american companys off - it is a very good aircraft by all accounts, and will quite happily trounce others in its class

I remember the 001 concorde - one of its first public flights was a fly past at the old hawker siddley factory at woodford, near manchester - My dad worked there, on hydraulics etc on the Vulcan bombers so even though I was very young, I saw it very early

(Being a doting dad he asked for, and was given one of the models from the wind tunnel tests for the Vulcan - he was on the way out of the gate when security when ape shit and started muttering things about the official secrets act! Would have been a damn cool model to have on my ceiling!)

I always thought they were the ones that popped out the side like they used to have on the old Morris Minors

{You'd have to be able to fly on Concorde to afford a pair of these indicators - £180 per pair! - I must explain that this is not a fact I knew until I just searched for the picture}

Ahh the AVRO VULCAN my all time favorite airplane. I watched the final flight on TV. (Had a tear in my eye) It was great to see the Red Arrows flying in formation around the Vulcan.

I will be going to see her fly again if/when it comes about

When I was a kid, my Dad worked for Handley Page - so I was always brought up to prefer the Victor over the Vulcan.

AAAHHH NOSTALGIA !!!
What joy, at my age, I've been livin off it for years.
Just two questions.
1) What about the 3rd V Bomber the Valiant, although it had no fans then either.
2) What was all that garbage about indicators at the start of this thread, obviously talking about Concorde, V Bombers, Harriers and the like evokes much more emotion. Then again my list of previous bikes includes - Velocette, BSA, Matchless, Norton, Triumph, Villiers. Then I got my first Suzuki and realised how bloody unreliable they all were. No longer needed to carry tools for a full rebuild on the trip to work.
The thought of the two broken cranks on my old Matchless 650 Sports, still brings a nostalgic tear to my eye, still loved it though :smt055
