New Falco

I was searching for DENSO so £7.99 was competitive...
Anyway re: skidmarx... I emailed them and they sent me pictures. They said they could only supply in gloss black and I'm just trying to imagine what that would look like as apposed to red.

personally i think it would look ok - perhaps a quick play in photo shop will answer the question??
I just sprayed a quick black shape over a sample image i stole from the web.... - it looks ok - probably better than if you were to colour match it red i think :)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Ohhhh yes :)
As you've said aladinsaneuk, I am going to photoshop the pics skidmarx sent me and take it from there.
Just put the scorpions back on and they sound frigging amazing... i wonder if i'd get away with it on the street? hehe

Just one thing to consider, if it is the same as when I bought mine, it does not come in "finished" gloss black, it still needs painting to make it look good.
I originally tried to match mine to "Black Crow" for my 2001 Falco, as I could not get a supply of the Aprilia paint at the time. Had a panel "computer analysed" and matching paint selected, but it was nothing like the Black Crow I needed, so decided to respray again in gloss black then flatted down and put 3 or 4 coats of clear gloss on.
This is what I would do with yours Rick.
Skidmark turn them all out black, but as I said it is not finished.
Couple of primer coats first.
Then two or three coats of standard black then flat it down for final time. (try not to rub through to the primer on the corners like I kept doing!).
Then fit any decals if you have any, then the coats of clear gloss.
I did it all with large cans from Halfords and the clear gloss gives you a good finish.
It actually matched my black Falco very well as the Black Crow paint does not have much metalic blue content.
The same finish should look good on yours.
Obviously if you have access to spray kit, even better.
The belly pan fitted pretty well, but I did very slightly enlarge one of the mounting holes to get it lined up.
The worst job was fitting the rear brackets on the bike in the right position, as when the belly pan is one you cannot tighten the brackets to the bike, and when you take the belly pan off again the brackets always move from where you had them, so dont line up with the belly pan DOH.
You will understand what I mean when you get there.

Thanks for info H!
I will be calling Skidmarx today to ask more about the finish... I don't mind it being gloss black but would rather not have to do the whole painting thing... I have no patience with that sort of thing!
I'll also order the db screen in black tint... or maybe black... need to think about that one :)

Re: belly pan, just spoke to them and its a gloss black that is polished, but can be polished further and is ok to go on the bike as-is... so I'll probably order one tomorrow.
I just think it'll finish the bike off nicely :)
This modding thing is getting addictive... although once I've done this, the screen and sorted the tail tidy that'll be it... for now ;)
I may also look at what you guys have done to mount your GPS... I have a Rider V2... but I'll look into that at a later date :)

I never painted my belly pan - but after 3 years I may have to LOL
re gps mount.... lots of options... and i think most of us here have our own solutions
perhaps if you decide where you want it then we can advise.... a double bubble screen means you can go over the clocks :)
