Am i correct in saying the guy who designed the Aston Martins moved over to Jaguar?

Personally, Davina and I like them. When things pick up for us we may part ex the Lexus in for one

Bland design, same as the XF. Looks like a BMW/Mondeo/Lexus/insert-indistinct-grey-executive-car-here. Certainly doesn't say JAG like the old XJ, XK and as much as I don't like them even the last S-type was instantly recognisable as a Jag.

I certainly wouldn't turn one down if it was offered to me for free, I just find them very boring to look at.

Unlike this however, which is pure class:

Series 1, good engines rotten bodies, series 2 better bodies rotten engines, series 3 rottten bodies and engines, series 4 started to get it right :smt002

I have had 1 of each and all of them as well as having them as traffic cars (XJ40) and they all had their own problems which considering their British Leyland background at the time is not surprising.

Now they seem to have got the balance between build quality and reliability sorted.

Yes the new jag is retro, so many cars are modern versions of 1960/70's cars

IMO this was the best ever Jag

I'd like this as well

I parked next to one of these Jaggy things today in Cambridgeshire County Council carpark.

Had a proper look about it and nobody from the carpark staff batted an eyelid.

They either think it's really well alarmed, or that its fekkin ugly. Was surprised as I wasnt exactly acting in a normal manner. My mate was like 'What the fek are you doing, you trying to break into it or something??'

'Naah We were chatting about these on that website i run'

'Oh ok.'

'Do you think it's retro?'

'What, like does it look like a Zanussi washing machine from the late 80's? Yeah a little bit. '

I stand corrected Gio. it is retro.

My lad is just coming to the end of his year at Jag before he goes back to Uni. He's been working on the new XJ and designed a small part to fix a suspension problem they had in the test vehicles. He couldn't believe they let a student loose on proper work. He went down to the production line to brief the assemblers on how to re-route stuff and fit his fix and now it's in full production. Dad.... jealous.......nah :smt010

Kids these days eh!
