Servicing in the South East

#1 Post by phillvr6 » Wed Nov 18, 2009 9:07 am

Any suggestions for somewhere decent in the South East. I really should get my valve clearances checked. I'm in Farnborough Hampshire.

http://www.apriliabikes.co.uk/
Just press on the link when says oops
I used them and was a lot cheaper than the other aprilia dealer in Chatham.
Not an expert on bikes but they were pretty good and friendly even got a shiver for the day

Thanks for the suggestion, they're 55 miles away though, ideally looking for somewhere a bit closer.

Blimey, same here, nearest dealer is the one in Chatham, 50-60 miles away. OK ride in the warmer weather mind.

How many miles have you got on yours, I've been told not to bother until it's up to 28k.
And the engine has only done 10k! :smt001

Don't know if people are aware, but Griff of Aprilia Performance fame is willing to run a mobile Aprilia servicing service.
If there are a few of you in one area that can combine, then that helps to keep costs in check.

Griff is based in Tamworth and I know he's gone to Newcastle to do this and I think the West Country too.
Get a few of you together and talk him into a suspension setup training session on the end of it.

two points regarding the dealer at Chatham
1. my bike had its first annual service there(2001),had a dreaded call stating a engine mounting bolt had sheared and was not there fault and Aprilia said it was not covered.
Cost me around £600 as the Lump had to come .
2. Was going to use them again as nearest dealer and that was 8 years ago but they quoted me around £80 more than East Grinstead.

I'd recommend Bikersworld too - John, the owner, knows his stuff. I bought my Falco there back in '03 and I've always taken it there for servicing. Sure, it's a fair way to go (for me - I'm near Andover) but I think it's worth the trip - their pricing seems fair (for a main dealer) and I've always had good service from them...

I've always had good service from Inmoto in Croydon who have a good reputation locally
