replacement screens
I think I need a double bubble. The question is, do I ? This year the wife is accompanying me and some of the boys to Le Mans. I need a screen (mine has fractured screw holes). I have never had a wind problem
but it could help my pillion. I am not a big fella (5'8 and a very important 1/4 inch!) ant the wife is about 5'6". Whaddya think ? My brother swears by D/b for his Mille but obviously a different riding position. Who sells the best ? Pyramid looks OK but a bit dark as I would prefer a light smoke to match by black Falco.

Puig screen ........ http://www.af1racing.com/store/Scripts/ ... oduct=1531sabestian wrote:I've never seen any screen that would look beter than t e stock one... They all seem to spoil lines of a bike. Wait...there was one, looked like stock but with an additional wing on the edge (probably adjustable). No clue about the make though.
I've got the Skidmarx one and it does the job for just me in terms of deflecting the blast (not a huge difference from standard though) but I don't carry pillions when I'm touring so i'm not sure if it would help or make things worse for someone on the back. Seb is right though, it ruins the lines of the bike, never seen one suit a Falco but the Puig screen looks much better.
I've fitted a double bubble and I agree that it doesn't look as good as the stock screen.
The reason I've fitted it is that it gives space to fit my box containing power supplies and relays for my heated grips and navigation system. The Navigation is not a waterproof unit designed for a bike (dedicated ones are too expensive or lack some features) and so needs the weather protection of the screen.
So, I guess I've gone for the double bubble in terms of practicality rather than style. That being said, I wouldn't say that it has a major impact on the bike's appearance - just not quite as nice.
Oh yes .... no idea of the make .... bought it from ebay.

A ha! I know what you mean cos I used to have one on my zx6r!
If you try www.performancemotorcycleparts.com they have what I think is called a race screen or something. (Forgotten it's about 3years since I bought one). Anyway, its a simple clear piece of perspex which sits ontop of your screen either bolted through or velcro-ed on. (I did the latter so I could take it off easily). It wasn't as big as the one pictured on the other forum but was bloomin effective. Think it cost £10 for two delivered. Would be worth it for a trip without the hassle of changing the whole screen.
