See you in two weeks!

#1 Post by T.C. » Mon Oct 19, 2009 10:52 am

Looking forward to tomorrow morning when we head off down to Southampton to board the Independence of the Seas for a fortnights cruise to the Canary Islands.

See you in a couple of weeks, be good and be careful everyone! :smt003

Enjoy it TC.

I've only been back just over two weeks but ready for another break.

Have a nice time.

Personally, it's my idea of hell. I hate being on boats (I don't even like getting the Dover to Calais ferry).

I like boats but I wouldn't want to be on one for 2 weeks! I like the cross channel ferry at night when I can sleep the journey away.

Have a good time TC.

Well after 11 days on the current biggest cruise ship in the world (well, until next month when Oasis starts operations), The Independence of the Seas at 160,000 tonnes, all I can say is WOW! What a ship.

We did 4 islands in the Canaries, Lisbon in Portugal and Vigo in Spain, 25 - 27 degrees all cruise except going down through the Bay of Biscay which was a bit rough, but everything was superb.

Flow rider was an intersting experience as I have never surfed before, the rock climbing up the back of the chimney stack was a bit hairy, but cabins were as usual comfortable and well appointed, food was superb and plentifull and on board prices were cheap (Golden Virginia at £3 a per 250g packet, so I brought plenty

Bit hard getting up at 6 in the morning back in Southampton, but truly recommended if you want a goood relaxing break that doesn't break the bank! :smt002

At least I only have to walk as far as my study rather than have to sit in a traffic jam or sit on a train every morning :smt002 Makes returning to work somewhat more bearable.
